SOURCE: Ink system failure

I had exactly the same problem with my HP 8230 and tried all the posted sugestions with negative results till I stumbled on this site site offering an update for a different problem but added " also clears many ink system failure messages " I downloaded and installed the update and the printer burst into life and now works perfectly, which proves mine was a software problem not a hardware one. give it a try you might get lucky.

SOURCE: We purchased a new cartridge because it said

it will not send or receive a fax if the error is still there. Clear the error by trying these steps:
-open cartridge door and remove the cartridge
-unplug the power cord at the back of printer
-after 30 seconds, plug the cord and turn on the printer. It will ask for the cartridge.
-Open the cartridge door and insert the cartridge
-close the access door
-if the error is cleared, try faxing again.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Solution for error 0x61011beb other then turn off and on agian: something thAT WOULD REALLY HELP!!!

Most likely there is something stuck in the priner somewhere. Try removing side panels and see if there is anything. I have a video with HP 6500A model. It is a bit different deifferent from 6600 and 6700 printers, but may be helpful to guide you in the right direction.

How to load the 5600 - 6600 printer with ink

Hi,
on windows:
Power up the printer and the PC, go to your control panel, enter PRINTER AND FAXES. you can see the installed printer: LEXMARK 5600, right click and choose printer Preferences. After that click maintenance and choose replace ink cartridges. Then follow all the instruction.

For more informations, see page 111 of http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/5600-6600/v7677571_en.pdf and remember to leave the printer on.

I have the 5600-6600 series need steps in printing from the memory ran out of ink

Whenever a fax is stored temporarily in the printer's memory due to low ink level, replace the cartridge right away. Without navigating away from the "fax sent to memory" message, hit Ok button. It will then print the fax. However, if you have navigated away from the message, unfortunately the fax will be lost and will not be printed anymore. You have to ask the sender to resend the fax. I hope this will help you in the future.
