Additional aux cable for ipod.

I have just bought a Alpine car stereo CDA 9812RB and fitted this in my car. I would like to add my i pod to the stereo but im trying to find the cable which fits my alpine model to then run my ipod from this. However, i can not find this any where on the net and im struggling to get this sorted. My stereo has two inputs but has a particular socket in the back off the stereo to use as an output aux. Please can you help. i am looking for the right adapter to do this.
I would appreciate it if you could help.

Thanks, it really helped to find the cable but i need to ask another question.

I have checked out my socket for the cable before when installing my alpine stereo. I noticed that it looks more like a socket and not a pin socket! is this the right cable?

    Thanks nLinked

I had a look at it, and it looks different to my socket...

I noticed it looked more circular than the cable shown.

    hope it fits.

Thanks for you help it made things alot easier.

    Hi nLinked

I had a look in the manual and the socket is round just like my Alpine stereo, but the cable looks and is flat on one side. Its very bizzare and i know this will not fit.

is there any other cables that are out there?

Thanks again your a great help!

Hi there,

The compatible cable is part number KCE-433iV. This is the cable from your CDA 9812RB stereo to the iPod. It looks like this. Costs roughly £20 or $35-40.

A Google Shopping search should help locate it. It may even be cheaped on eBay.

Hope I have been of some help!

Best regards

Had a further look. According to the manual for the stereo here, it doesn't mention anything about use with an MP3 player or iPod.

But according to Google, the stereo is iPod-ready and it is that cable that keeps coming up.

Here's a much closer look at the cable (you can mouse over the image for a zoomed view). Does it seem it will fit anywhere?

Also, according to the official site here, it doesn't mention iPod. Officially at least, it doesn't look like it supports it.

    Best regards

Ipod control?

You can purchase the KCA-420i and connect it to to the ai-net port behind the headunit. This will allow you to send signal from your ipod to your alpine headunit while still retaining your operating functions to the ipod. Can be purchased for about 10 bucks on ebay.

Haveing trouble hearing sound when I have my IPod connected

You need a AI Net cable or Speed Cable... It plugs into the back of the radio (looks like a circle with holes), and the other end can have a "Y" plug (headphone jack and iPod flat jack). The headphone jack for sound, the flat jack to charge he iPod while listening. I just bought mine on for $29.99. With the discount code: 3A156 you can get standard shipping free. The item # is: 127ICALPA and it's named "PAC iPod Adapter for Alpine".

Peripheral's Connex2Car adapter to an Alpine CDA-9851

the alpine should recognize it as a "changer" when you select the source; ie: radio, CD, changer. Sounds simple, but have you turned up the volume on the iPod?
The Alpine adapter is $100, but works great, you can totally control all your iPods functions, and it displays all song info on the Alpine decks display.

IPod will not work.

restoring factory settings won't revert the player back to previous ipod software. Check with the alpine website product support and see which ipod software versions are compatible with the car deck you installed. I would think the latest version would be supported. then go to the apple website and download the most recent version of itunes that alpine says is compatible. connect your pod and open itunes. upgrade the pod to that itunes version and try it again with the car deck.
