hi my iphone 3g touch sceen isnt working its hanged up what would i do
Problem for Apple iPhone Smartphone
Iphone dead
before 1 month i buy iphone in america. he was unlocked for other mobile operates (t-mobile). he work perfect and i didnt have any problems with him.
before 2 days i couldnt charge him on wall charger, only with usb on my laptop computer. so i decide to go to apple store to buy wall changer, and i saw there Bose SoundDock Systems for iPod
and i ask salesman can i put my iphone on that. he said me yes, many iphone owners try that, and i put iphone on that.
when i put my iphone on bose dock, screen on iphone become all white and iphone start acting crazy. i couldnt talk, play music or anything also. i try to restart him lots of times beacuse he is acting crazy. after many times when i restart him, he was come back to normal mode (i was talk, play music..). i notice that iphone is very warm on camera area and my battery wich was full she all gone. i put iphone on usb to recharge him and batery still was losing energy!!!
after 1 hour battery all gone and he swicht off. i can turn him on. i try to recharge him on wall changer and again on usb but still nothing hapend.
i cant back him to life.
i think he battery or morher board is broken (warm almost hot on motherboard area).
could you please give me advice or help.
i live in croatia and at&t or iphone service is not posible to help me.

- Me and a colleague have both experienced the same ...2 iPhones dead :-(( None of them had firmware updated using iTunes, so that cannot be the problem. One Loudspeaker was from Altec Lansing and the other was an Apple Hi-Fi!!! I shipped the iPhone and Loudspeaker to Altec Lansing (on their request), but they are writing back that they will not cover it. I will now have to contact Apple - I'll post my answer when I know more.I'm surprised that this can happen 2 times in my near vicinity and there are close to no similar experience online?!

Ok. There is a nasty rumor that only the update affects iphones that are unlocked. This is very untrue.
Whenever you try to use almost every accessory that was made for an iphone, You will encounter this problem. As well, most of these products when you plug in your iphone will cause a message to pop up stating that the device is not compatible with an iphone. and will ask you if you want to put the phone into airplane mode. Though this option is available you now have a device trying to charge, and use an incompatible device. Hence the black out. I went through those myself with a ipod dock alarm clock.
Unfortunately, unlocking your phone, voids your warranty.. I will still try to to find a way to revive you iBrick but the outlook is bleak. Sorry.

I have the same problem. I was @ liverpool's airport and I was going to buy the bose dock for the Iphone. When I plugged it in it was working fine, as I pulled it out from the dock the screen came crazy and I just started off and on and it worked but the battery drained in few minutes. then I tried to charge it and nothing ... Now I've got the battery pack as I thought the battery is not good anymore. I replaced the battery and it worked. I have synced the Iphone with the computer and It was saying that it was charging but I left the Iphone charging for a whole night and the battery was still flat. I noticed that the Iphone is getting hot near the camera aswell. I don't know what to do. Its an expensive device for nothing! Please help if you know something

I had the same problem. The phone is not bricked, only the baseband has been damaged. Try to look on filehippo for older versions of iTunes. Start from 7.3.0.54 , if you fail go up a version. 7.4.1.2 solved my problem. After i ran ziphone and it is up & running still. Only thing is it is getting very hot in the charger, but oddly enough I am getting better reception. Don't ask me why. For iTunes and on filehippo click HERE
Just try to restore it (shift+restore) and select firmware 1.1.4. Don't give up it will work. Error (6) will be error ???? on the older itunes. If itunes says cannot run, just move your iTunes music folder to somewhere else. Good luck!

Have the same problem... My iphone frooze, I tried re-starting it, it did not work.. I put it on the dock and it just went crazy!! white screen , then I got a message "Repair needed.. can not make and recieve calls" everytime the I put a SIM card it gets very HOT!!.. now it is not
working.. nthing seems to bring it to life.. and I am pissed bcz, a day

Same problem!
Plugged mine into my car *** iPod FM transmitter, same interface, and it went black. Got warm, and would never turn on again.
Replaced the battery, and it's still dead.
Plugged it into a wall for 20 min, and it got hot again, so I unplugged it, and it was still warm for 2 hours. Still dead.
Can't return it here in Canada, it's a brick.
Apple should have warned people, or at least not used the SAME IPOD CONNECTOR.
Took it in for service at a local shop, they said it was a bad comm board. I ordered a new one, picking it up today. Will swap it out and check for signs of life.

I just plugged my iphone into my ipod hi-fi and it went dead. nothing happening at all. cant switch it on anyway. reset, switch-off, switch-on - nothing works.
i was using firmware 1.1.1 and had unlocked my iphone.

If you allowed itunes to update your firmware (software for iphone) while it was plugged in to your dock, then that is your problem. Try checking iphone hacking sites for information on how to "unbrick" the phone if that is the case. Never let itunes update software on a hacked iphone.

HELLO, i had bought the iphone 2g from a family member. for 175 this was when they just came out, so moths passed. awesome never hacked or any of that. sometimes got hot when on the phonecalls, but i had used a car charger while in the car. and screen blinked on and off, and i was like WTf, and picked it up and it burnt my hand really bad!!! but after that i shut it down and hasnt been workin since then, if i bought a new motherboard this would help

try to do a hard reset to get your iphone to wake up: press sleep/wake button and menu button together for 5 seconds. if that doesn't work there is most likely a logic board issue and you should take it to the apple store if you're under warranty. if you're out of warranty, There is an online guide that shows you how to replace the iphone logic board.

Hi i got the same problem like 3 weeks ago, i conected my iphone to my bose sounddock and then the screen goes white and it started to act weird, then i tried to recharge and it didnt work so it was death in 4 hours when the battery finished. For lucky i got a garanty here in mexico with the guy i bougth it, he told me that an inside part of the iphone burned and he was going to change only that part. I havent recive my iphone yet, but he told me he was going to fix it with no problem. I think that the problem was connecting the iphone in the bose sounddock, but looking in a lot of pages, i checked that no one has ever passed for the same problem, so you are the only with i saw with this problem. If you figured out, why it passed tell me pls. TX
