Listen, I know you are not going to believe this, but the lens is stuck because there is something binding it. The most popular method for freeing this up is to smack the lens about three times, not real hard, but give it a couple of good ones and this should free it up. After you do this make sure to hold it lens down in case something needs to fall out and clear itself out. You should be good to go. I am not kidding, this works...

After recording for a while my sony HVR HD1000E will give me wobbling pictures. the pictures will appear as if there's a heat wave in front of the lens. At times i'll zoom in and shake the camera...

It sounds like a sensor problem. I recently ordered repairs on one of my Sony video cams. They had to replace the lens and the sensors, but they are also refurbishing it. When it gets back, it will be in "like new" condition and ready for many more years of quality service. The repair cost is minimal compared to replacing the cam. I recommend calling Sony Company Tech support, wade through their telephone menu-maze and talk with the camcorder repair department. Here is the number as listed on their website: Priority Service Line (for U.S. only): 239-768-7547

TIPS to help protect your camera: No matter how tempting it is to film a beautiful sunset, pointing the camera at the sun for extended times (even a few minutes) can damage the lens and sensors. Regarding filming at the beach (especially if windy), or in snowy or rainy conditions without weather protection, the moisture, sand, etc can, and will mess up a camera. It

The screen works and the mechanical gears and everything work, but it simply does not display a picture, only the blue screen when you attempt to play a tape. Simply turning the camcorder on in record...

This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

My photo's are not sharp and clear. What am I doing wrong?

you could be doing nothing wrong, These cameras have auto focus and when there pas there prime, you need to get them fixed basically.

If the output is out of focus more then likely the auto focus is your issue.

Hope this does help, would be considerate if you do leave a rating or feedback before you go, Thanks

I cant turn on my camcorder but it wont turn oon at all ive tried everything

Is the power pack connected? make sure battery is charged (around 5 hrs) if nothing this means your camera has passed away, sad that as lots of that model failed like yours.

Screen black. Everything else works perfectly.

To my understanding that you do not see live view in camera mode to record and camcorder playback old recorded tapes correctly and you get picture in LCD.
If it is true then please check lens cover that need to be slide down to get live view in camera mode. If problem still exist then 2 possibilities, either aperture in lens mechanism is bad or ccd imager is defective.
In that problem, camcorder needs qualified tech to fix it.
Let me know any further query.

A common problem in the Sony camcorders is a stuck iris assy, the part of the lens assembly that regulates the light coming into the camera. It sounds like that is the problem with your camcorder. It can be verified by zooming your lens out and it and shining a light into the lens to see it you can actually see the CCD at the back of the lens. It helps if you know what you're looking for, but if all you see is black, then the iris is stuck closed and you will need a qualified tech to look at the unit. Please, if this information has answered your question, I would appreciate a good rating. Thanks!

DVX-100A PSD NG error message

I think there is something worn in the lens.
I just give the the camera one or two sharp smacks with the heel of my hand
beneath the front body of the camera (not the lens),
That clears it up.

You can probably turn the stablization off too, but I think you also lose some display info.
