Question about LG DU--50PX10C 50 in. Plasma Television

Red line on screen

I have a 50" LG plasma tv and I am hooked up to Directv. When I turned it on today there was a large red line on the right side of the screen. No matter what channel I am on its on the screen. Any idea what caused it and do I need to replace my tv aready? Thanks I have an 8 inch vertical red line on the screen 11 to 12 inches from the left side. What are my options?

    I have two red lines on my screen. One red line is in the middle of the screen and the other on the extreme right side. It began suddenly and does not interfere with the other functions of the TV or the built in DVD player. All help will be appreciated.

    I have a thin red vertical line from top to bottom in just about the middle of or 2 1/2 year old 42" Phillips Plasma TV. Any ideas of what needs to be fixed? And how much??

    I bought a 50'' LG Plasma today. I hooked it all up and when i turned it on a line appeared about 2 inches from the top in a horizontal direction. It isnt red. its kinda a distorted line that mixes the image a little bit.

You need a new video board on your tv i can sell you many boars you may know need i am also a full service man for tvs and electronics

The vertical line, in my case, was due to a bad contact on the flexible printed circuit. I fixed the problem by using a piece of a rubber eraser to apply downward pressure on the flexible circuit as shown in the picture. To locate the faulty section lightly push on the flexible circuit from lef to right untill the line dissapears. red line on screen - 9f78570.jpg

I suggest to be examined by technicians in a service center. If the price of replacement parts almost new price, better buy a new TV.

this is not an easy fix. the screen ,or the x or y screen drivers are bad .

You will need to replace the control board and your TV will be better that a new one.

Another "same probelm"

My set has encountered this magical 50/50 split screen and it seems to be quite a problem since I am not the only one researching this issue. LG was of no use because of course it is just out of warranty. Any solutions on fixing this or am I out of money in buying a new plasma?

Red patchs
plase describe the red patches a little more do they look like red snow, are they only in the right side of the the picture, when you bring up the menu can you see the red over the menu?

Red line on screen
I had the same problem -red, vertical bars along the right side of my Samsung 42" Plasma- and this is what fixed it: Removed unterminated cable.  
I had hooked up an HD video camera to the set about two weeks ago.  While I disconnected the camera I left the other end of the connector cable plugged into the T.V..  As I've since learned from friends who work in television, this is what's called an "unterminated cable" -meaning one end is unconnected.  It can lead to problems with electrical interference and appears to have been the problem in this case;  When I disconnected this cable from the T.V. the red bars went away.
So, check your cables.  Make sure everything is properly connected and get rid of anything that might be picking up interference.  
Hope this makes sense.
