Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Akai Model LCT3701AD: bought two years ago from Sam's Club at discounted price with no remote control and no service manual. I tried to find a universal remote but couldn't find one that will work on this unit. so for the past two years i've been tediously using the off-on button. about two weeks ago, the tv won't turn on. after pressing the button, the red light will turn green for a fraction of a second and then go back to 'off'. for the first few days, there were times when i could turn it on but since last wednesday, it was always showing a 'red' light even when i press the 'on' button. this unit is really pain from the beginning. not being able to find a useful remote for this tv was loathsome. i should have returned this unit to Sam's club early on. i emailed this problem to akai service, twice already, but did not get a reply from them. i tried looking for repair center. the quotes were out of this world!

If the TV fails to power ON, in about 90% of the time is due to a defective power supply.
I repair these power supplies, if you need further assistance write to jah2mil@hotmail.com

I have a AKAI LCT3701AD 37 inch TV don't have the original remote control but bought a universal remote control but is not working Why?

YOU WILL STILL NEED TO PROGRAM THE NEW REMOTE FROM THE MANUAL THAT CAME WITH THE REMOTE. NORMALLY THIER ARE TWO WAYS TO PROGRAM A REMOTE EITHER MANUALLY OR TO DO IT AUTOMATICALLY. YES THE ORIGIONAL REMOTE IS ALREADY SET UP FOR YOUR MODEL OF TV BUT WITH THAT SAID TRY TO PROGRAM IT BY BOTH PARTS OF THE MANUAL. i AM USING A 55 INCH SMART TV AND HAVE DONE THIS AND ON OTHER SMART TV'S. ALSO YOU CAN GO TO THE WEBSITE OF THE REMOTE THAT YOU PURCHASE AND LOOK FOR VIDEOS ON HOW TO SET IT UP. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP LET SOMEONE HERE KNOW. GOOD LUCK.

Need 4 digit remote codes for this tv

I recently bought a used LCT2060 that had no remote. I figured my comcast cable remote would work without a problem but it didn't. So 3 universal remotes later I found my solution...a radio shack2_bing.gif universal gamer remote. It controls up to 5 components plus your xbox360, playstation and pc. The price on sale was a mere 12.97, not bad if you ask me. Hope this helped. The code that worked for the Akai2_bing.gif was 11676. Take care...

Akai LCT3701AD refuses to leave STANDBY mode.

The power supply on your LCD is defective. It does not provide the power needed to all the circuitry due to defective capacitors or other components.
You will need to replace the power supply or get it repair because these service parts are not longer being manufactured.
Good Luck.
