If you have windows XP, boot the computer in safe mode. When you start the computer keep tapping the F8 key to the advanced boot menu. Select safe mode. It would give you the login screen. Select Administrator, do not enter any password, if you can get through, it means that you did not setup a password for the system administrator. Once you get to the safe mode window with the icons, you go to start, control panel, user accounts, select the user account that you used to login and delete the password. You can retype a password again and exit out of the window and restart the computer. You would be good to go.

If you have windows vista, and you have created the password reset disc, you can use that to reset the password. You need to boot the computer with that disc. if not, you need to run the system recovery on your computer.

reboot the computer and hit F8 key continually to access the boot menu
