Steam cleaner jet of steam intermittent why?

Have you tried descaling it? Limescale blockages are common.

Did you use a pipe cleaner in the jets, (be careful if steam is hot)

It may be calcified or have lime scale. If the heater is "gummed up", it cannot heat properly. Try using either vinegar (takes longer) or an iron cleaner. You pour it in and it breaks up the scale. CLR works quite well too. Use pipe cleaners to clear out the holes in the sole plate.

Soak and/or run vinegar or CLR through it. They also make a steam iron cleaner.

After the red light goes off, press the trigger on the steam release pipe and the steam will jet out.

Did you use third party carts?

If yes, buy original brother ink carts and do the cleaning cycle again. If you are lucky the printhead isnt clogged due to the third party ink which has not the additives and glycerin needed for the printhead to run without probs.

 

In case the head is clogged there is nothing more what you can do. Sorry!  A replacement might costs more than a new mfc 440cn!
