How can I clean the inside of the glass on my HP PSC 2410 printer scanner? It has a milky film on the glass that is showing up on scanned photos.

How do I get to the "underside" of the glass? Obviously I can clean the top side - the milky film is inside the scanner glass. I want to know how to get inside to have access to the underside.

White spots on scanned images

First thing you should do is to check whether the original image is clean and no dust or anything.

The next one is to clean the scanner glass. Use a clean cloth to wipe the scanner glass to make sure there is no dust or anything that might reflect the light from the scanner that can cause white spots.

Please give us update regarding this issue.

Thank you,
Jack

My hp psc 2410 all in one can't start. it diplay shows busy massage and scanner make machenical nose

the scanner bulb assembly is unable to come to its starting position. this assembly rides on a metal spindle, rub some oil on it so that the slide becomes smoother. to reach it you will first have to remove the glass. turn the scanner upside down & prise it open with a flat screwdriver applying pressure at the rear end to separate the top & bottom half.

I have the same PSC 2410 and contacted HP the print software is included in Leopard 10.5 but the scan is not. They have "no" plans on producing software and went as far as to recommend  third party scanner software to make it work.

Hp 2410 just clicking

When you power on the printer.
See if the scanner light move to the right and then keep on clicking.
If this happen, the scanner head is unable to find home position.
You will have to clean the strip under the glass.
If this only start to happen recently, you could unplug the printer and wait 1 hour.
Replug in the printer will at times stop the clicking.
You can go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com
Enter c00553775 into the search block.
Click on Hp All in one how to clean scanner glass.
This will bring you to the HP document.

NOTE: The underneath side of the scanner glass cannot be cleaned on any product. This is unlikely to be necessary and should only be done by an authorized service provider.
