How to program an RCR460 remote

I just recently found this remote again, and I know that I don't have the code list, nor do I have the manual on how to actually perform the programming. I found a list of codes online, but I can't figure out how to program the codes in. Any help would be appreciated.

I have this remote and to enter the code manually you hold down the mode button (tv vcr etc) and while holding it in enter the code for the device. if the light for that device blinks and stays on then it accepted it. if all lights go off it didnt.

Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.

2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.

3. Enter the 4 / 3 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.

4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

How do i manually enter codes?

I think this is the answer, but you will have to check it out. This is directly from RCA. You need the codes for the devices you want to program the remote for, naturally :) This was under a different remote heading but it seems like it has to be right.

  1. Manually turn on the device you want to control.
  2. Press and hold the device key you want to program (the ON/OFF key comes on).
  3. While you are holding down the device key, use your other hand enter the first code listed for your brand in the code list (the ON/OFF key goes off after the first digit).
  4. When you have finished entering the code, keep holding down the device key and look at the ON/OFF key.

Is the ON/OFF key ON? YES: You are done! You have programmed this device key.
is the ON/OFF key OFF? YES: Iit blinked four times and turned off: You have either entered a code number that is not in the code lists or missed a step in the code entry procedure. Try step 3 again.

1. turn on device that needs to be programed into remote, press and hold the device button you wish to code in.
2. when its lit solid press and hold the power button while holding the selected device button as well for three seconds, the selected button will go out but you need to let go when it does you need to let go.
3. proceed to then press the power button over and over and over again until the device turns off.
4. press the stop button to save the code.
5. DONE!

your remote now works.

I'm missing the instruction manual for my RCA RCR460 remote control. I need the manual set-up instructions, and a list of all the potential codes to sync up to a Toshiba or Mitsubishi DVD player. Any help...

1. Manually turn on the component you want the remote to control (TV, VCR, DVD, satellite receiver or cable box). Note: If you press an invalid key during the Manual Code Search, the remote does not respond and the LED indicator light does not blink. If you do not press a valid Manual Code Search key (TV, VCR, DVD, SAT·CBL, ON·OFF, GO BACK), the search times out after two minutes. When the search times out, the LED indicator light blinks four times and turns off. The last programmed code under that component key is retained. 2. Press and hold the component key (TV, VCR, DVD, SAT·CBL) you wish to program. The LED indicator light turns on and remains on. 3. While holding the component key down, press and hold the ON·OFF key. The LED indicator light turns off. 4. After holding down both keys for three seconds, the LED indicator light turns back on. 5. Release both keys. The LED indicator light remains on. Throughout the programming of each key, be sure to keep the remote pointed at the IR sensor of the component you are currently programming the remote to control. 6. Press and release the ON·OFF key repeatedly until your component turns off. Each time you press the ON·OFF key, the LED indicator light blinks, and the next code in the list is sent. This process continues until all of the codes in the Code Lists have been searched. If your component turns off, you have found the correct code. (If it cycles through and the LED indicator light blinks four times and turns off, all codes have been searched. The Manual Code Search method is exited.) Press Stop when TV turns off.

Programing my remote?

you should be able to hold down the desired function you want to program......(for tv, hold tv) since i dont know what tv brand your trying to get it to work with i can only suggest holding down the tv button after you turn on your tv manually and hit the channel up button until it changes the channel. turn of the tv with the remote and see if it turns it back on. if it works you should be good to go. hope this helps
