How to replace door lock

Have bought a door lock repair kit, but am unable to separate the door to change the handle and latch. How do I separate the door outer part from the glass window from the door inner part?

Unplug your machine, remove the top panel, doublecheck all of the wiring is securley connected. Sometimes the wiring becomes loose due to the machine's vibration.

How to change door lock on servis 1000 gem washing machine

I would guess that the plastic latch hook (my invented name for it) has broken. Easy to do because the wretched design does not show whether the lock is still on or not. When you have your replacement you just have to remove the two screws inside the door latch, noting how it all fits together, and refit the new kit. Careful with the screws; one of mine is now loose and will need plugging. BTW I have managed just one wash with a super-glued latch hook!

Hotpoint wmt05 flashing door lock light

simple one this i would guess, there is a spring in the door latch/handle, part number C00097647, replace this part and it will sort your problem. Take the door apart, the handle/latch assembley basically lifts out and will be clear what to do when you get this far

We broke the door handle on our Malber 1000 Can we order a new one and can we fix it ourselves?

Mike, in Washington D.C., again. Of course you can do it yourself. First call Joel (Malber in NY) at 800-600-8913 or 516-294-6660 . Tell him which model machine you need a door latch for (if you aren't sure, check label in rear). Once you've received your new latch assy (about $20): Open door, and notice white plastic "ring" around glass is actually 2 pieces (front and rear) snapped together - with a seam around periphery. Unsnap (separate) them by either getting your fingernails into the seam and pulling them apart - or prying them open with a spackle knife or thin screwdriver blade. Once it starts coming apart, just work the opening all the way around. Remove front "ring" and set aside. Using a 1.5mm Torx screwdriver, remove 2 small screws holding broken latch assy. Note the way the ends of the spring go under the 2 screws. That's the way it has to go back. Slip new latch assy into place, pressing vertical "hinge pin" and ends of spring into slots (near screw holes). Replace 2 screws. Test latch with door open - is it working? Try closing door. All good? Replace front "ring": Open door and, while pulling out on latch handle, slip the ring over the latch handle and get it into approximate position. Let go of latch (it snaps into "closed" position) and adjust ring so it doesn't bind the latch handle (meaning it's free to move). Now, beginning anywhere on outside edge, begin snapping rings together - and continue all the way around. Test that door latch still operates smoothly and that door latches shut properly. FYI: There is no adjustment for this latch assy - it just fits precisely where it's supposed to. Good luck and God Bless ...

Hi, I have a hotpoint aquarius mwa30, the door lock light flashes and/or not at all. I bought a new door interlock but it still does the same but if i link out the 2 wires in white then it tells the washer...

the spring may have gone in the latch on the door.
close the door and push the handle part by hand to move the latch into the lock more firmly.
to replace the spring or handle assembly remove the screws from the back of the door and prise the front off.

Cannot open door as handle broken for indesitw103

hiya easiest way to open is = first unplug power! then turn off water hoses to machine then draw machine out to gain access to pipe connections on rear and disconnect them ? now remove rear panel top screws as these also secure the top panel at rear then lift rear of top panel and pull to rear the panel now can be removed ? you now have access to the latch on front panel inside? if you reach down you can flick latch /hook clear to open door ? at this point after removing washing? you can observe the door inner remove inner panel that surrounds/secures glass? then you can observe how the door handle/lock assy is secured ? easy diy you can browse yellow pages for the replacement handle assy? machine repairs/spares reassembly is reverse to above wish you well this is a common occurance and should not have prob obtaining parts for the MAKE/MODEL NUMBER ? when enquiring for parts best wishes

Broken door handle...

I have the same problem and I have a makeshift solution which I was able to do in 45 minutes and total cost was less than $1.

Step 1: Remove door from machine.
Step 2: Disassemble door with the two plastic donut shells. This means removing 6 or so flathead screws. Take care to note alignment of glass parts because they aren't perfect circles and only fit one way.
Step 3: Pull out pin that threads the spring and broken plastic handle remnant and metal latch piece.
Step 4: Discard broken plastic and replace the rest of the apparatus. The metal latch can move up and down, but that's ok.
Step 5: Purchase a paint-can opener:
Step 6: Re-attach door.
Step 7: You can use the paint-can opener to the right of the latch to lever-open and lever close the latch in order to open and close the door.

Cheap, easy. Not pretty at all. Definitely something your friends would make fun of you for doing, but it saves you $1,000 of a new machine, in this economy.
