Question about Computer Speakers

Logitech g51 Hi, I bought a logitech g51 last week, i have been testing the system but I am almost opening the volume till the end but still the volume doesnt satisfactory. My all settings are ok, wave and sound settings, I connected it to my laptop via 24 bit creative soundblaster 5.1 usb all the sound levels are on top, Then i continued testing with my mp3 player, i directly connected mp3 player to the speakers from aux lines but still the sound is not satisfactory. I am listening most of the songs in the 70- 80% of volume level, Do you think it is normal ? All connection has been checked 5 times I have the latest drivers of windows and sound cards vista 32 bit Thanks

Re: Logitech g51

I'm sure you went to Control Panel, opened device manager, and and checkeck for any yellow checks for your
sound, video and game controllers. If there are none, your system is go. Then go to your audio manager on control panel, and set it up for whatever speaker configuration you have. I have realtec audio manager. This step is a must for configuring—you choose whether your laptop will use its own speaks or use your external speakers—you have to turn off the internal speakers and turn on the external. Did you forget?

Re: Logitech g51

I have a similar set-up: Logitec G51s with a Creative external sound card. Make sure the computer mixer's volume is maximized and make sure if your application has any kind of volume control whatsoever that it's set to maximum. Usually when my system is suddenly soft or mute it's because an application has turned the volume down or muted it without me realizing it. I do run the sound card at 100% volume and control the actual speaker volume with the G51's volume knob. That's quite normal.

Could there be an electrical short in the speakers line?Could you return them for a refund? Also did the speakers come with the logitech computer system? Have the speaker system bench tested. Then go out and buy a new pair.

Hi, the crackling is mostly a result from dust and debris building up on the contacts of the volume knob over the years.
You could try taking some compressed air to the space between the knob and the pod.
Sometimes with the power off rotating the knobs from end to end will also help.

in my view, it is due to any of the following
1. its fuse burnout or wire breaked, check fuse and cordwire
2. its subwoofer coil is damaged to loud volume, replace it

Speakers fade in and out when listening to music

ensure all connectors are properly inserted, then if you have a speaker mounted volume control, then run it back and forth rapidly about 100 times with power off. this will allow the tiny copper "wipers" contacts to brush off any accumulated dust.
