Acer travelmate 4152lci laptop mouse pad not functioning since machine last shut down (with no apparent problems) - external mouse plugged in via usb port works fine, mouse pad settings show "enabled" and "device functioning" in properties - how can i make mouse pad function again, or is it likely to be a physical problem, eg loose connection etc

Try to re-intall your mouse pad driver and update your machine's bios.

if still doesn't work then you mouse is faulty and might need to replace.

Your mouse function is not working, you can try external USB mouse,
probably the mouse pad is off, check in device manager from system properties in control panel, if it shows mouse installed.

My mouse pad isnt working but a USB mouse is, tried to use Fn+F7 but didnt work. Any help?

Is there a function key on the laptop? (Fn usually blue ink) is there a key with the symbol that looks like mouse pad. Hold down Fn then the mouse pad key and that should enable the mouse pad.

As you have suggested the F7 key is the one for the mouse pad, and hasn't made any difference, have you somehow corrupted the drivers. You can download them from the acer website.

when did it last work, you cloud try a system restore. Remember to press Fn + F7 again and give it a moment to enable( just in case the last time you tried it, you turned the hardware off despite it's lack of functionality)

Touch pad and keyboard freeze after startup

Check your memory. Reseat your memory. Try that first. The next step would be to get *********** board checked. All I own is Acers and I have had that same problem. Usually after reseating the memory everything seems to work just fine. But this could even be your graphics card. I would try and run a diagnostic on it and reseat the memory. You can run a diagnostics by shutting down the computer then hitting F8 and click on diagnosis and repair. And see what kind of a reading you get out of it.
