Your image mentions an HP device. If you are trying to remove Hp Drivers, you MAY want to insert the CD that came with the printer and choose the Uninstall option. If there is no such option, then consider following these steps:

If this is a program you installed, then it should be available through the programs and features icon in the control panel (or add and remove programs in Win XP).

If you cannot find it there, I suggest you visit this site:

This is a really useful utility that will remove programs from the registry. Use it with caution!

How to completely uninstall a software

How to remove leftover files, folders and registry keys after uninstalling a software:
OK, first lets see what actually happens when we install a software?
When we install a software it copies some of its files usually in C:\Program Files , C:\Windows\System32 , Registry.
If we uninstall a Software from Add/Remove Program ( Win+R --> appwiz.cpl), it removes some files from C:\program Files only.
It will not remove the softwares supporting files and folders from System32 or Registry.
Now lets see how to remove these leftover files:
I use a small freeware utility called Revounistaller for this process.
What is Revounistaller ?
Revo Uninstaller helps you to uninstall and remove unwanted programs installed on your computer even if you have problems uninstalling and cannot uninstall them from "Windows Add or Remove Programs" control panel applet. Revo Uninstaller is a much faster and more powerful alternative to "Windows Add or Remove Programs" applet! With its advanced and fast algorithm, Revo Uninstaller analyzes an application's data before uninstall and scans after you uninstall an application. After the program's regular uninstaller runs, you can remove additional unnecessary files, folders and registry keys that are usually left over on your computer. Even if you have a broken installation, Revo Uninstaller scans for an application's data on your hard disk drives and in the Windows registry and shows all found files, folders and registry keys so you can delete them.
With its unique "Hunter mode", Revo Uninstaller offers you some simple, easy to use, but effective and powerful approaches to manage (uninstall, stop, delete, disable from auto starting) and to get information about your installed and/or running programs.

I cannot remove "The Weather Channel" from my system because "INSTALL.LOG" is missing. How can I correct this problem?

First try to uninstall it using a force uninstaller program like handy uninstaller (click here to download handy uninstaller) [open the link, click "Click here to start download"]. Install it and run the program, all the installed programs could be uninstall using this small program. If you can't still uninstall it, delete the program from the handy uninstaller's lists and open your C; drive folder, then "Program Files" and delete the folder "The Weather channel". After the folder has been deleted, download this, (click here), and install it, run the program and click "Registry", then click "Scan for issues", wait for few seconds and again click "Fix selected issues", and "No", again "Fix all selected issues", then "Ok", and close the program. Now restart your computer, the weather channel should be cleared from your system by now. Not a trace of the program will be available on your system including the registry entries. After you are done, you can uninstall both the programs you've just installed.

The second program (ccleaner) is a very effective tool to clean your system and registry entries, you can run the Cleaner by clicking the "Cleaner" > "Run Cleaner" button.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My sound is silent because a use tune up utylities 2008 and use a disk doctor

Don't these utilities have an undo or repair feature? If not, use the restore function that is in Windows to return to a date BEFORE you used these other programs. You must have done something else or multiple things because these types of programs are not supposed to mess up your registry, they are supposed to fix it. I am assuming that you are using Win XP? If widows restore works, uninstall those other programs and DON"T use them again.

Delete from add delete at control panel

The only way to modify the add/remove programs list is to edit the registry. If you are uncomfortable doing this, get someone to help who is, or just leave the registry alone.
It's best to back up the registry in case you make a mistake.
To back up your registry, see this article.

On to the fun part. Follow these instructions exactly. Note: this applies to Windows XP only. If you have Windows Vista, please modify the question.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedt32, and then click OK.
  3. In Registry Editor, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
  4. In the left pane, click the Uninstall registry key, and then click Export on the File menu.
  5. In the Export Registry File dialog box that appears, click Desktop in the Save in list, type uninstall in the File name box, and then click Save.
  6. Each key listed under Uninstall in the left pane of Registry Editor represents a program that is displayed in the Currently installed programs list of the Add or Remove Programs tool. To determine which program that each key represents, click the key, and then view the following values in the details pane on the right: DisplayName: The value data for the DisplayName key is the name that is listed in Add or Remove Programs.

    -and-

UninstallString: The value data for the UninstallString key is the program that is used to uninstall the program.
  7. After you identify the registry key that represents the program that you removed but which is still displayed in the Currently installed programs list of Add or Remove Programs, right-click the key in the left pane of the Registry Editor window, and then click Delete.

Click Yes in response to the "Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?" message.
  8. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
  9. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

In the Currently installed programs list, verify that the program whose registry key you deleted is no longer listed.
  10. Do one of the following:
    • If the program list is not correct in Add or Remove Programs, double-click the Uninstall.reg file that you saved to your desktop in step 5 to restore the original list of programs in the registry.

      -or-
    • If the program list is correct in Add or Remove Programs, right-click the Uninstall.reg file on your desktop, and then click Delete.

Win xp various add remove programs missing remove

Hello, you would not want to remove something from the registry editor to uninstall something, One thing you can do it to locate the folder the program is installed, this will commonly be the C drive and then the Program Files folder, inside there you should see the folder name that matches with the program your looking for, inside you may find an uninstall file there. If not you can delete the folder but it may cause startup issues.
