SOURCE: Transmission is very Jerky when starting to move

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Your model has this Transaxle.

I suspect that the gears item 14 are worn. Possibly the larger gear item 15 also.

You have little alternative but to remove the transmission and then the top of the transmission to inspect the gearing. Due to the number of gears in this transmission... the symptom that you have can be an accumulative problem from wear on multiple gears. Items 14 and 15 are the main causes.

Make sure to check the short internal drive chain for slack and wear. This too can cause jerky operation.

Kelly

Reduced Transmission Performance error message on my 2014 Volvo V40 T4 49000 miles / 80000km on the clock Fully serviced without any prior problems

Your revs are higher because the transmission is not shifting into the higher gear ranges. There is an apparent problem in your transmission that needs immediate attention. In the U.S., this is called "limp mode" and is designed to keep you from being stranded but to also make you so uncomfortable with the performance that you will take it for service as soon as possible. If it were my car, I would have it towed to a dealer for service. If you can't tow it, drive it SLOWLY to the nearest dealer while watching the tachometer and keeping it under under 2,500 RPM. Good luck.

Why does my pajero mini 1995 wont change gear. Cant drive higher than 60 km/hour

Your bands in your transmission might be gone . Usually you'll lose one gear at a time . You'll know if the problem presented as hard jerky shifting ,this is followed by the car seemingly going into neutral when travelling at high speeds , followed by loosing one gear . Then they all go. Or your linkage is stuck . Check to make sure your transmission fluid isn't low .

2007 JD 450J 2500 hours: checked oil levels - Hydraulic and transmission. Engaged drive, normal PSI, crawled at very low jerky speed. Backed up some and then it stopped no PSI and no longer moves.

sometimes they have air pockets disengage the transmission
as to push. start put in gear and run this will help burp out air.
shut off and engage the transmission and try.

Mazda 3 won't shift into 4th gear, where is shift scene of located

Check your tyranny fluid is full, sounds like you may have blown a transmission band.... usually in an automatic transmission the car will go to what seems like neutral on the gear that is gone, usually preceded by a few months of hard jerky shifting. Not much to do if this is the case but to get a rebuild or new transmission, it will continue to get worse as you get higher mileage ( other gears will start to go) . These things happen over time. Sorry of that is the case.

Transmission malfunction notifier message on control panel. What does it mean? Transmission has been very jerky switching between gears, especially 1-2-3. It also sometimes revs up out of control as if it...

check the fluid and all the wiring plugs going to the transmission.it is not uncommon for oil to drip onto a plug and cause bad readings,or vacuum lines that are cracked.

I have a stx38 riding lawnmower. The drive is herky jerky in forw

I have seen this problem on other tractors. It is caused by a loose or sticking drive belt between the engine drive pulley and the transmission. There is an idler pulley between them that is spring loaded to keep the belt tight. If the pulley bearings froze so the pulley doesn't spin, or if rust or a broken spring prevents the pulley from swinging over enough to keep the belt tight it would cause the problem.

Jerking movements when in 1st gear.

Most jerky clutches are traced to weak clutch disc coil springs. They are mounted in the clutch disc to absorb shock, but can get weak and can cause a jerky clutch.
Could also be a broken weak motor mount.
