The convergence circuit is your problem and most times with this model the convergence power supply bd. is the problem.

SOURCE: Image Distorted

This is a classic convergence problem. Please confirm that your model is 51H84 and whether or not you intend to repair this yourself. You will need to know how to solder. If you wish to attempt the repair, confirm the model and update this and I'll provide you with details and instructions.

My 5 years old Plasma TV found half of the screen picture view not very clear.. The half colour seen blur..

Your Buffer boards or the YSUS main are bad. THe YBU-Y Buffer upper controls the top half of display, the YBL-Y Buffer lower controls the bottom half and the YSUS Main controls both those boards. They are located to the Far Left on and opened Set.

Lines across screen breaking picture into 4 sections

Based on reported problems with Samsung LCD tvs, It is probably one of three problems:
Separation of layers of the LCD panel;
A defective LVDS cable connection;
A defective T-Con circuit board.
If light hand pressure on the affected area on the LCD panel changes the problem, its the defective panel. If not, manipulating the LVDS cable will reveal the cable defect. If not, coolant spray applied to the T-Con circuit board should reveal if it is defective by temporarily alleviating the problem. Dont remove the back cover if you dont know how to protect yourself from electrical shock hazards. There can be more than 1000 volts in the backlight inverter area.

Phillips 42 inch Plasma -Screen Issues!!!

intermittent loss of picture on either bottom or top half of screen is specific to y buffer boards located on left side of screen going from top to bottom when looking at back of tv. the y lower buffer would be the board to replace to resolve the loss of bottom half of picture. if the top half also is going out intermittently could tied to upper buffer as well but just a note the y main board to right of these buffers drives those two boards so in some cases could also be part of the problem. if only bottom half is affected i would recommend replacing lower buffer only

You probably have a component breaking down on one of the circuit boards. It would have to be checked out to find out which one. Stargazer

Screen split with black bar through center, top of picture shows in bottom

It sounds as you desribe, the vertical output IC and or the b+ feed capacitor off the Hi voltage transformer feeding the vert. IC its required voltage. Not a really hard job to replace, but not for a handi person to do. This should be left to the professional, as there are no user serviceable parts inside this set and with the HI voltage and the safety issues its best to call somesone to assist you with this repair. Good Luck
