Question about Heating & Cooling

Intermittent cooling 10dC above thermostat

The condensor exhaust motor only runs intermitently 1-2 minutes max whilst cooling takes place. I bought this as a clearence item. Am I right in thinking the gas is low?
What can be done

I note that there is a large thud when the rear exhaust motor shuts off (like an internal flap slamming shut?) Warm air is produced out of the front cooling fan immediately after rear exhaust shut off. Exhaust is never warm (it was the first time). Temperature never gets below 25dC

Does this help narrow the possibilities?

    Thanks

    Thanks Guys,
I will try to return the item, if this proves problematic I will try and fix it my self.

If its cooling during the on to two minute duration its not low on freon the fan on condensor has to operate in order for it to cool off freon to outside theres not a whole lot of info here to go by but here is some ideas-you may want to check outlet for a suuficient power supply and also that it is properly wired if not correct unit will not operate right(hardware sells a tester you plugh in with leds to tell if outlet is wired correct)also check breaker that it has sufficient amperage to suffice unit-if you bought on clearance it could be something that was brought back to store that was not functioning correctly-if unit is fairly new most are controlled with circuit boards may have problem in board-if not could be fan motor faulty for condensor-check switch and wiring for loose connections!!!Best of luck to You!You can also call manufacturer and register unit and then claim a warranty!!!!

There are many causes why this unit works intermittently. This unit is prone to faulty motor running capacitor, for shorted or leaky. There three capacitor there you better check it one by one . Shorted or leaky capacitor can cause the unit to run intermitently. Also check refrigerant Freon gas or CF4 maybe out or slowly leak out. This unit also will goes on and off if there is a shortage gas involved . Also check the thermostat if its working. Also cold solder issue in contol panel circuit board and power supply board.

Good luck:

A cold solder joint is where a lead of a component is not soldered at a high enough temperature and results in a bad electrical connection which can respond to physical shock and thermal stress.Due to time, heat, use, some solder joints would be cracked or loose. It is possible that the cold solder is still minimally connected . When the aircon unit turns on heat would be generated which would be sufficient to further loosen up the solder joint to the point it no longer provides electrical contact. A solder joint may also be broken or cracked because the was tug or hit. Look on the front and back of the board along the defective circuit to see any components that look like they are not soldered effectively or the solder connection is cracked or broken. A cold solder joint looks dull and/or bulging unlike the smooth and shiny normal solder joints. Its better you resolder all components parts joints of control panel circuit board and power supply board .

My frost free fridge freezer comes on for five minutes every half hour and is not cooling very well, what's the reason for this?

1 Check the thermostat settings i.e. temperature control. Hope it is not on the lower number. 2 If the thermostat setting is OK then there is every possibility that the cooling gas has leaked out. Call the technician and get it recharged. 3 Also check the compressor that it is working properly.

1998 chevy 3500hd, 6.5 turbo. has two new batteries and two new alternators but when hot there is an intermitant draw that dims the lights and puts a major drain on the electrical system when running. What...

Some educated guesses:-
Check the operation of the radiator cooling and air conditioner condensor fans.- There may be a seized fan motor causing the current draw.
With such a major current draw I would expect a fuse to blow or circuit breaker to operate - check all fuses installed in system are of correct rating,

Check for damaged (heat?) wiring adjacent to exhaust/turbo fittings.

My maytag skybox does not cool very well even when turned all the way to high.

1) your box may be low on freon,
2) fault thermostat may cause unit run non stop,
causing evaporator to ice up and blocking air
circulation,
3) Dirt condensor thus reducing operation efficiency.

Check the simplest problem first - make sure condensor
coil is clean. if not, use a vacuum cleaner to clean condensor.

For # 2 is more likely if the evaporator has a fan.
If it has, check to see if it runs; it is behind the back panel inside box.
While at that, see if evaporator coil iced up. If it is defrost using hot water and turn it on setting thermostat to normal temp. setting.
If it work fine and later develops same problem, replace thermostat.

If the above 2 solutions don't solve the problem, call a technician to check freon.

You need to find oput what you loose when the truck shuts off, all you need is Air, Fuel , and spark to run one of the three are droppuig out when it stalls and will not run. Chech the carb for gas it sounds like you have a weak fuel pump.

more likely a bad motor ..excessive lint build up in dryer will reduce air flow through motor causing it to overheat problem is by the time the lint problem is found and corrected motor is already gone

The outdoor unit has failed in some way. This is probably not the thermostats fault. You can check the breaker for the outdoor unit by turning it off and then back on. If this does not work, the problem is most commonly one of the following issues. All of which should be done by a professional because the danger of electrocution.

1) Bad Start/Run capacitor
2) Bad Compressor
3) Bad Exhaust fan motor
4) Combination of some or all of the above.
