If you can enter the bios setup screen than set your boot priority at boot from CDROM. Save the settings, put in the recovery CD, let the computer start, and it should boot from the CD. If it still does not boot from the CD, than the CDROM drive itself my be the problem. If you had some work done on it recently, then chances are who ever did the work did not connect the CD Drive right, this is just a possible cause of the problem. Or it could be the drive itself is dead.
