This FE-340 Olympus is a great camera. Lots of features and usually great results
  • Indoor pictures with flash set on auto WB (white balance) should not be a problem
  • Indoor pictures without flash requires setting the WB to match the light source in the room (incandescent, florescent etc) Outdoor pictures WB on auto generally not a problem

My pictures have a purple tint to them

You're either using old/expired film, or taking photos during dusk. Color film is balanced for daylight photography. Using it under conditions other than that will result in varying color casts on the resulting images.

Fluorescent lighting: Greenish
Indoor bulbs: Reddish/orange
Outdoor at night/dusk: Blueish/purpla
Ourdoor at dawn: Pink/blue

Or, you may have just gotten bad print work done. Try a different lab.

THE PICTURE TAKEN WITH FLASH IS ALWAYS MORE ON PINK COLOR

This is imbalance of the white balance of the camera. If there is no fault with outdoor shots then the CCD does not compensate the high intensity flash specially when bounced closer.
Set the camera manually to outdoor high brightness and test.
If the pink seems to come back irrespecitve of any of the settings the CCD circuitry is faulty.

My indoor photos all have a greeninsh yellow effect

That's caused by lighting. More specifically by the type of lighting in use there. Every different type of light puts out a certain color range, some pink, some green, some yellow, some bluish.

How do you fix it?

1. use flash. Flash puts out a bluish light color balanced for daylight. Most film available today is color balanced for daylight. Problem here is that on camera flashes are weak and only reach about 10 feet. The rest of the picture will be greenish yellow. More powerful flashes extend that 10 feet based on the power they have, and may provide enough coverage. The reach of the flash is also determined by the film ASA.

2. use a filter on the lens. Get an FLD (flourescent-daylight) filter.

3. Scan the negs to digital and correct with Photoshop or another photo editing program.

TV Picture is tinted pink

depending on how much you paid for the tv , the cost of the repair may be more than the tv is worth. but if this is a large tv , then the repair would be most likely worth it

If you are not getting good color picture then I would advise to perform white balance adjustments in service data with help of concern service manual.
This kind of adjustments required service data handling tools, reference color charts, proper and up to date service manual etc.
Please contact nearest Sony service center for proper fix.

Undo White Balance Sony F707

If you have Photoshop: Layer>New adjustment Layer>Levels Use the middle eyedropper tool and click on something in your photo that should be gray/dark gray. Or: Use the white eyedropper (far right eye dropper) and click on something in the photo that you know is (or should be) white. You can try the gray first, then the white.
