Hi! you can try reformatting by activating the keylock and then press and hold the record key while turning the power on. it will go to the recovery mode.

plug the mp3 usb to your pc.

open a notepad apllication and create a new blank file.
save as sansa.fmt and change save as type, it should be All Files. it will create a file with 0 bytes.

you can now disconnect the usb and wait til the mp3 displays formatting.. it will reformat by itself.

Okay well i recently formated it well a friend did but now my sansa doesnt have any memory watso ever wat do i do

The best thing that you could do is to contact the manufacturer. After reformatting the device, there's a possibility that the complete driver or firmware was loaded properly.

Contacting the manufacturer and have them re-install the program or firmware should fix the problem.

Good luck!

Reformat the whole thing with Rockbox. That's the whole point with buying the Sansa, as far as I understand.

E270 Does not keep date and time.

Hi zcrank
just two questions, what is the manufacture date of your phone or how long have you been using it and did it have this problem at first?

SanDisk Sansa e270 MP3 Player has only 79 songs and 3 GB used

You may have some corrupt data on the device.

It sometimes creates the wrong file allocation and gives you an incorrect representation of the free space.

Try formatting the device in My Computer to erase all of the information and start over.

My Computer>Device Name(e270)>Right Click and select FORMAT.

Best of Luck.
