Problem for Philips DVD 622 DVD Player
No audio
the dvd runs but there is no sound. I have replaced the cord set that connects to my HD SONY TV but there is still no sound. It did work for a while. Any suggestions?

- I have Philips DVD622 player.Worked fine for over a year, but now there is no audio output (i.e. only very faint audio when I turn the volume up to full level).
This problem occured after I paused the DVD player using the remote during a movie, and when I returned to play mode I lost all audio.
I tried a poster's suggestion that I go into the audio settings menu and toggle the night mode audio compresssion on and off, but this does not solve the problem. Still no audio.
Any ideas on how to flash the factory software or any other solution?

1 In ‘AUDIO SETUP’, press OK to enter
the submenu.
2 Press 3 4 to highlight {Night Mode}, then
press OK.
3 Press 34 to highlight one of the options
below:
ON
Select this to level out the volume. This
feature is only available for movies with
Dolby Digital mode.
OFF
Select this when you want to enjoy the
surround sound with its full dynamic
range.
4 Select an item and press OK.
