TV shows a message constantly since 2 days ago to check fan no. 3 and then the tv turns itself off.
Problem for Samsung HLN467W 46 in. Rear Projection HDTV Television

TV has no picture but does have sound until all three lights start to flash and then the set turns off. Purchased a new lamp ($131.00) and that did not change anything? according to the book when the TIMER, LAMP, and STAND BY lights flash it is most likely a defective lamp. What else could be wrong? HELP!
Tv has whining sound in back. When i start the tv it attempts to start several times (sound comes on then goes off) then shuts down and all three lights are blinking. TV will not turn off until i pull the plug. The only trouble shooting i have done is to pull the plug and let it set overnight. still does the same thing thanks

- Well I have the same problem as the person before. The sound is there for a little but no visual then the TV shuts off and the 3 lights are lite. Then the TV shuts totally off. Tried unplugging and replugging. I don't know what to do?- mimi1234567Dec 15, 2007

- The timer keeps on blinking yet TV does not start to show the screen. Sound comes out in about 3 seconds then everything blacks out. I tried to unplug for 24 hours and tried to plug the next day. TV screen comes out and I was able to view TV for about 10 minutes. Then the same process of black out happens again.- stareastBest Solution

Unplug the set, pull out the lamp module (not all the way - leave it on the track) and push it back in.
Power issues (Tv not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.

I have the same problem. I bought a 43" Samsung DLP and I"m having problems with the tv. Sometimes when I try to turn the tv on it will not come it cycles on and off and finally the lamp light comes on and and the temp light comes and stays. Sometimes I keep trying and some times it comes on and sometimes it won't. It also makes a whining noise at the back. Please help.
