some paper are jam in paper feed

  • Anonymous Jan 09, 2008

While printing, the paper jammed, and I can't pull the jammed sheets out.

  • Anonymous Feb 24, 2008

The paper jams just after coming out of the fuser unit and stops right before it goes through the outlet rollers

I have the same problem. the printing just stops half way through the printer. I took the printer all apart to look for pieces of paper that might be stuck nothing found.

When trying to print one or many sheets, my printer starts to feed and then malfunctions. The first sheet through does not print and the second sheet does not make it all the way out of the back of the machine-sticks out about three inches. The third sheet gets stuck just above the paper tray half engaged.

I found a little metal piece beside the right side of the machine and I wonder if it came out of the printer and is the cause of this problem. It is about 13/8" long and about 5/8" wide. It has a 90 degree hook on one end and the other end comes to a point with a smaller 90 degree hook. I can't figure out where or if it goes anywhere.

The printer prints correctly when I feed one sheet at-a-time through the straight pass through.

I have examined everything and I cannot come to any resolution. I swapped out the laser cartridge-no difference.

I have the same feed problem and found the same piece of metal part on the right side of the machine when I turned it over. I also found a spring. When I just cut the machine on it paritally feeds 2 sheets of paper and then the third gets stuck in the paper feeder and half remains in the tray. Where does this metal piece and spring go anyway?

I had the same problem as one of the above posters in that when you cut the machine on it would try to feed paper but would jam with one sheet partially in the output tray, one in the machine itself and one part way loaded but stuck in the paper output tray. I also found the little piece of metal with "hooks" on each end and the spring that suddenly appeared as loose pieces on the right of the machine down near the paper tray. After looking at the metal piece I recognized it as part of a solenoid or relay. I looked at an exploded view of the printer and saw that there are three solenoids on the right hand side of the machine. I found the instructions for how to remove the right side cover on the internet and removed it. The bottom relay nearest the front of the machine was missing the spring and contact plate (the mystery parts!). I removed three screw holding the metal cover so that I could just lift the corner of the metal cover enough so I could take out the single screw holding the solenoid and pulled the solenoid out. I replaced the plate and spring on the solenoid, put everything back together and all is well again! Good luck!

I cant fix the paper jam problem. every time i take the paper jam out it jams again

I have had paper jams in five different places on this machine. It has jammed at the pickup point from the tray, in which case you have to remove the paper tray and pull the jammed paper out. It has jammed at the manual paper feed tray, in which case you just have to pull the jammed paper out of the feed rollers. It has jammed at the toner/drum, in which case you have to open the front cover and pull the toner cartridge out to remove the jam. It has jammed in the back of the machine where the paper feeds through to the output tray, in which case you have to open the small back panel and remove the paper. And it has jammed in the output rollers, in which case you have to reach inside the output tray and remove the paper. Then once the jam is cleared there are times when the machine has to be unplugged for up to 8 hours to reset before it will function properly.

Paper jam that I cant get at

the paper must be jammed in the fixing assembly.
you are gonna have to remove some screws to remove the plastic covers. once you took them off proceed to unscrew what ever needed in order to free the fixing assembly, which is the one located in the upper back part of your copier. once you released the fixing assembly release the springs and remove the metal stoppers. now you should be able to remove the paper jam. good luck!
