Turn the fan around there are four screws on the backside of the grille. You will need a long philips head screwddriver.

I have the blizzard table model. Four screws, on the back side of the front panel, sunk in a lil' ways, release the front piece from the rest of the unit, giving access to the blades and everything else inside.

I have had the same problem. I own a couple and they are not worth the hassle of disassembling. While the fan is on or off (low setting) spray a cleaner such as Windex. I've found spraying while on is better. Then stick a long Q-tip about 6" through the grill and onto the blade. As the blade spins on the tip of the swab it will collect the bunnies. Its plastic blade will do no harm and the q-tip will not harm the motor. Turn off blade and the grill when finished and you will just need a few swabs around the grill as the Windex has been spraying out from the fan.

Holmes blizzard table fan

take it to your nearest gas station and get the air hose and spray it with the air then take some w-d 40 and with the long red tube attachment that comes with it spray it in the middle moving parts of the fan.the air from the air hose might turn the blades so stick a pencil or something in there first to keep blades from rotating then spray the dust off the blades with the airhose

My fan is not rotating when I connected to plug. There is no burning smell or anything. How can I fix the problem? Thanks in advance

Hello.

I have a Holmes pedestal fan that does this every few years. I have had this fan for about 10 years.

Unplug the fan and remove the fan blade guard. The fan blade should spin easily when you tap the edge of the fan blades with your finger. If the blade barely moves and abruptly stops, the bearings are dirty and need to be cleaned and oiled with 10W non-detergent motor oil. A quick-fix is a tiny bit of WD-40 where the motor shaft (the rod that the fan blade is mounted on) meets the bearing (the part of the motor that the shaft spins on). To properly fix this, you must oil both the front and back motor bearings which requires removal of the motor housing.

If the fan blade spins easily and you are certain that the fan is getting power (try a different outlet) the motor may be bad. Likewise, if the fan blade will not move at all. I do not know if Holmes sells motors for these fans. Here is their online support website:

www.holmesproducts.com/Support.aspx

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

P.S.: Never turn a motor-operated appliance on for more than a second if you know it's not working. That will cook the motor windings.

Fan does not osculate all the way. The fan sticks then there is the clicking sound.

The worm hear or drive gear that are mainly made of plastic has stripped out. Just don't use the revolving ossulator option any longer

I downloaded the owners manual from www.usersmanualsite.com but did not see how to undo the grill. However if you go to http://www.holmesproducts.com/Fans.aspx (the fans official site) you should be able to ask them on what to do.
