hey guys, sorry about my english first of all :D the solution is simple.i had the same problem,i bought a new cable.i tryed it on different tv's.i was worried cos my console show me the 3 red lights some times and i was ready to make my xbox a cofee stand but i tryed this : 1)shut down the console 2)turn on back again and press y(yellow button )and right trigger ,,keep holding until console reset...and there it is ,,the console goes back to dispaly default settings.
i didnt mess around with my console,i dont know how the settings changed i had sound but not image in some tv's not even sound the past three months i had 3red lights many times so i think this is a temporary solution my console is about to make a big "trip"
i was playin call of duty 3 and the pic went funny colours and then i got the rrod and then i tured it off then it back on the i had sound but no picture can u help me
hello i have repaired many console with many problems like 1 ,2 ,3 red lights all easy repairs to me but one of the best metjods to do it with is the towel trick .place the console on its side with no hard drive or disk inserted also do not have the av leads plugged in just the power pack .compleatly cover the xbox with 2-4 towels they must be thick.just watch it when doing the towel trick though as it may turn off a few times .DO NOT UNWRAP just turn it on again using the controller do this for 20 - 40 mins then try it. it will also make a loud jet sound tht is just the fan speeding up!!!!! if this dosent work lift it up slightly then drop it make sure it is side ways then try if tht hasnt worked then towel again after that as it5 might have moved the chip back into place . if you have any problems email me at omega_mods@hotmail.co.uk

All of a sudden our xbox 360 isn't saving anything to memory. The memory to our xbox is completely deleted. No game gives us the option to save anything. What happened and what do we do?
Full Sound, No Video. Checked with Multiple Cables on Multiple Screens. Still no video. Considering "the towel fix." Any suggestions on perhaps adding more heat protection to CPU or GPU?

i have the same problem and it is not a cable issue. if i puposely overheat the system by wrapping it in towels it will work until the next time i turn it off.
hi, i have completely dismantled and put back together my cousins 360. it had 2 problems, one- there is no signal being sent to the tv. there's audio alright, but no video. I looked at the port where the cords get plugged in but there doesn't seem to be any damage! the second problem dealt with the cd drive. it would skip and dislodge the cd from the tray if it was put on its side. I;ve remedied that though. There is no "ring of death" and i have since put the system back together but it still isn't displaying any video onto the screen. Is it a bad video output Ic or something else and if so how can i fix it without spending money on a repair manuel? thnx...
I've got the same problem, happened 3 days ago. Turned on the 360 and the sound worked and the game loaded fine, but no video- just a black screen with some occasional white dots. I called microsoft and they gave me the run around, and it is NOT covered by the 3 yr warranty unless it has the 3 red light "ring of death" I'd call them and ask for a supervisor- the lady i talked to was a little rusty on her english and not much help. Good luck
