Not sure about the loud noise but my issue with the l5 error was a simple adjustment to the speed sensor.. take of the left and rear covers, then look for the sensor that goes into the red grommet attached by 2 wires. slide a business card in between the wheel and the red grommet.. then make sure the speed sensor is pushed all the way against the card and then remove the card. that solved mine :)

My bowflex treadclimber starts for abut 3sec then err L5 shows on the screen PLEASE HELP!

The machine needs to be re-calibrated if its an L5 error.
Your speed sensor must have been damaged either during shipping or use. You'll need a new one. If under warranty - give Bowflex a call. They will ship you out a new sensor and guide you through installing it via the phone... re-calibrating the machine... and getting it operational again. It will take about 2 hours.

After approx. 30 min. of walking on full speed it

I had this happen on our machine after about 5 years of use. I just recalibrated it and it appears to be working fine now. See the manual for information on the steps needed to take in order to do this.
