Script Error prevents scroll bar from appearing in Chat Windows!

After having trouble using an older YIM to login, I came back to 9.0... but am getting the same problem which caused me to attempt to revert to older builds...

Whenever i open a window to chat with someone on my list, i receive a script error!

approx details as follows:

Script Error on this page!
Line: 7
Char: 2514
Error: Library not registered
Code: 0
Url: ....Yahoo!/Messenge/pGReSw3zrMLtn4onkMpOxQ--
Continue Running Scripts on This Page? Yes/No

and despite which answer i chose it apparently is an error which disabled the scroll bar for my window! So when the text reaches the bottom it continues but i have no way of seeing it without restarting a new window! Is there a simple solution to remove this error?

My scoll bar is not showing on my main screen. How do I adjust to have it fit?

Kim Drader,

Below are steps to resolve your scroll bar issue.

Instructions

  • Restart your computer Sometimes, a simple restart can bring back the scroll bar to its original form.

  • Right-click anywhere on your desktopicon1.png. Click on "Properties" if you are using Windows XP. Select "Personalize" if you use Windows Vista or Windows 7 and click on "Windows Color and Appearance." Then click on "Open classic appearance properties for more color options."

  • Click on the "Advanced" button.

  • Click on the "Item" drop-down menu. Select "Scroll bar."

  • Change the width by entering "17" under the "Size" category. 17 is the default scroll bar width for Windows operating system

  • Click on "OK" and select "Apply" to end task.

You may not have Internet Explorer as your default browser but it is coded with Yahoo Messenger
For this reason you must keep it up to date and the support software as well. You do not have to set it as default but you need to keep itclean.

I want my facbook chat to get back to normal... the way it was when facebook just started no chat message in inbox no side bar and all ... please suggest me ways to do that... i am gone crazy of this...

If you know a bit of CSS, you can use stylish (an add on for firefox or chrome) and create a user script that will remove the chat bar in its entirety. You might be lucky and find a script already created that does just that at stylish's site. Otherwise just stay in offline mode.

I cant see the message i send and receive on my YIM.

The first thing to check is to make sure you have scripting enabled in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is integrated into Yahoo Messenger so things that go wrong with IE can affect Yahoo Messenger. Here is the yahoo help page about that: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messeng...

    2) In the Start Menu click on Run. Type, without the quotes, "regsvr32 jscript.dll" and then click OK. Next, repeat the process but this time type in the Run box "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" and click OK. Please note, if you are using Windows Vista temporarily disable the User Account Control (UAC). You can easily turn it back on. On the Control Panel (Category View) choose User Accounts and Family Safety, next choose User Accounts, and then click Turn User Account Control on or off.

    3) If the above does not fix your problem and you are using Windows XP, you can update your Windows Script to version 5.7. In my experience helping others, this is the step that has helped the most people. Exit all browser windows and chat programs including Yahoo Messenger before installing. run reginout cleaner to easily fix it
