I have a Thane Q BBQ Grill and don't have a manuel and all the posts say to go to a web site but still not able to get a manuel. It has tank of gas The striker strikes but will not light. Any solution....

This is a solution to the same problem for full size LP gas grills, but it will work for your grill, too. Assuming there is gas in the cylinder (?).

Turn the gas valve OFF and remove the cylinder. Wait 10 minutes and reinstall the gas cylinder.
Ope the gas valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once te vales is fully open turn the valve back 1/4 turn. Now, light the burner and turn it to HIGH. Did the burner light and does the flame height look correct? If so, you solve the problem.

If the above didn't work, either the cylinder of gas is empty or the regulator on the grill is locked up permanently and will need to be replaced.

Hope this helped you and Happy Grilling. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I smell gas ,sprayed connections ,no bubbles ,cleaned everything still leaking ,suggestion please whats most common for leaks thanx Tom

The leak itself may not be in the grill. It may be the connections to the gas tank regulator and hose. Or a minor leak in the tank valve, itself. Occasionally, the burner control valves will leak even when they are turned OFF. Of course, they are the hardest thing to test. These are just a few of the things you may need to check, in addition to those you have already tested.

Good luck and Happy Grilling!

Gas regulator won't let gas flow

Turn gas tank off and disconnect connection fron tank valve. Re-connect and turn gas on. Check for leaks with soapy water solution. Tighten if needed. Some regulators will detect leaks and cut off gas.

Flame appearing from in back of front panel

This is usually a regulator problem, or a gas leak where the regulator line attaches to the back side of the knobs. Test for a gas leak first. You can use a mixture of water and liquid dish/hand soap. Saturate the area where the hose connection is, turn on the tank, but leave the knobs in the off position and do not hit the igniter. If there is a leak, you should see some bubbling where it is. If there is no leak, turn the tank off, open the valves (turn the grill knobs on) and bleed the gas out of the lines. Once it has sat for a few minutes with the knobs in the "high" position, turn them off. Then leave them off and turn on the tank, followed by one of the knobs and ignite the grill. see if the flame went away. I've seen this happen where there is not enough pressure in the line. Turning the tank off, the knobs on, bleeding the line, then closing the knobs and opening the tank and letting the gas build up pressure in the line before turning the knobs back on or trying to light the grill should resolve it.

Marshall control valve . gas regulator valve

Replace the regulator as this is typically an issue where the diaphragm has separated from between the body and bonnet. This is not repairable. There is no recall for this as was in the case of the 450 regulator as it is a manufacturing variance that happens with all products. It passed initial QC, but in time the diaphragm moved.
