Key pad does not power on!!!

The unit turns on, but the key pad never lights up and the keys do not work. It almost looks like there is no power getting to the keypad area.
Anyone knows how I can open this up and check?

Re: Key pad does not power on!!!

These printer copiers have covers that are difficult to remove
you must look at the seams where the covers meet ,look for arrows and insert a small flatblade into the opening and gently pry the cover apart.most keypads are connected using a flat ribbon cable ,pull the cable out and pay attention to the orientation of the cable, one side will have small silver contacts they must be reinstalled the exact way they were removed.clean the silver contacts with a pencil eraser and reinstall the cable.
If it still doesnt work, the power supply may be defective. if so call a tech.

H5-01 code

First thing H5 means you've had 5 continues jams at or before your fuser unit. So the first thing you need to do is make sure you all your paper out of the machine and double check the fuser unit for paper as well as the transfer belt unit for paper on it or behind it. You can simply remove it by first removing your fuser unit (lock is under fuser, a turn dial) then pull the transfer belt out and tilt up. **** Warning**** use caution when removing belt as to not damage the unit. After you do all this you will need to reset the code.

Press the buttons in the following order :
#/P key (program) - Asterisk (*) key -CLEAR key -
Asterisk (*) key - Ready for input of a main code of simulation

Type 14 with the key pad then press your copy key
Press execute then YES Once done press the CA key on the panel and the machine will restart.

Dead HP 3200 series printer

The only fix I have used is a cold reset there is a firmware upgrade you can try if this does not work.
Turn the machine off and unplug for 1 minute or so.
Plug the unit back in:
Press and Hold the enter/menu key and asterisk key
Turn ON
Hold the enter/menu key and asterik key while the unit powers up. Once you see the message "Permanent Storage Initialization" let go of the keys.
Hope this helps

H4 error code

H4 codes are related to the fusing unit. Specifically a low heat condition. Follow the reset procedure below. If that doesn't work further diagnosis of the fusing unit an peripherial circuits may be warranted.

Error code reset:

Perform the following key procedure
"#" key, Interrupt key, "C" key, Interrupt key
"1" key, "4"key
Start key, "CA" key.

See if unit cycles and comes back up. If not turn off and then back on the main power.
If error reappears on site technical service may be required.
