Question about Computers & Internet

2 Answers

I have implemented a Wimpy mp3 player at http://markmaxwellmusic.com/sax-music/angel-biscuit/ that I'm actually quite happy with. I've spent a lot of time designing and programming it. But there is one little problem that is driving me nuts. As you will see at the above mentioned page, the Wimpy player autostarts upon page open. However, there is a listing of songs in the content section; each song has a javascript link that, when you click on it, is supposed to change the player to that song. Here's the javascript link for the first song: Savannah This little piece of javascript works quite nicely in Firefox and Camino - exactly what I need, in fact - but unfortunately will not work in Explorer. I'd like to know why. So what I'm looking for is the correct javascript call that will work across all browsers.

    e-Guru,

You said IE7 and 8 have issues with "some" functions of Java scripts. Are you saying then that there are some Java scripts that work? Is it possible to develop a script that would do what that script I put in my original request is supposed to do? Thanks!

Its basically JVM which has been stopped by Microsoft as support as they launched .net framework.

Some USB' s have a lock on them. You can change this option on your Pc. If that's not the problem, there must be something wrong with your USB , not the music angel.

I can't upload songs

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

Can i download itunes music to my mp3 player?

It depends on your mp3 player. If it supports the mp4 format, than it should work. You can check your user guide or google to check if it can.If it doesn't, you can download a converter from cnet.download.com (no viruses.... some have lots of them). The one that exactly seems to fix your problem is Here: http://download.cnet.com/Free-M4a-to-MP3-Converter/3000-2140_4-187723.html

ALL mp3 players take mp3 format (because it's an "mp3" player), and this converts it to mp3.

To put it in simpler terms, you may need to change the music in order to play it on your mp3 player, so this will let you do that.

PS: Don't worry about cnet, i've used it lots of times, and it is approved by norton, mcafee, and is owned by CBS (The TV station).

Everything on the site is checked carefully for viruses before it is put on the site, and it is almost impossible to get a virus from it.

How to download music to my sansa mp3 1gb.

I use Windows Media Player v. 11 (free software) with Windows XP transferred via the USB cable. This program will use the "sync" settings to add the music on your computer to the player. But, if the music is not in the MP3 or other compatible format for the player, then the WMP program will have to convert it first, which can take quite a few minutes if you have a lot of music.
