Question about Brother LS-2125 Mechanical Sewing Machine

Same problem as Coozie - bobbin thread not advancing; bunching;

I think I'm threading the bobbin correctly but the needle just won't catch it and advance. It bunches and stops the needle from even going down. I can't find any good diagram showing how the bobbin should be threaded to come up the feed dog. Help! I see "solutions" but can't seem to access them.

Top thread is bunching underneath

bunching underneath is an indication that the top tension is incorrect
switching projects and materials also that attention has to be given to tension adjustment both bottom and top
the catching sometimes indicates that a tension is too tight and is pulling the needle out of line

Y does my top thread pick up on hook and when it catches bobbin thread it gets tangled up on top of bobbin

Basic Tips for All
  1. Always turn the handwheel TOWARDS you (counter clockwise) as turning it in the opposite direction (away from you, clockwise) may knock the timing out requiring repair from a service center.
  2. Always be sure your presser foot is in the DOWN position before sewing. Sewing with the presser foot in the up position will cause your thread to tangle and your bobbin to jam.
  3. Change needles regularly (after 16 hours of use) as dull/weak needles can cause damage to your machine and fabric. Only use SINGER needles on your SINGER sewing machine.
  4. Always be sure you are using the correct bobbin for your machine. Class 66, Class 15 and Class 15J bobbins look very similar. However, using the incorrect bobbin class in your machine can cause damage.

Shuttle action not working, doesnt catch the down thread, bunches up thread and breaks needle.

Hi. I did not have this exact problem with my Featherweight. My machine was not stitching properly (top stitch looked so-so, but lots of thread bunching on underneath side of fabric). I took it to repair shop and learned that I was threading the needle thread on the wrong side of the metal plate which is part of the take-up arm (I do not think that the threading instructions make this distinction). After the repairman pointed out the problem & threaded the machine, it made a proper stitch.
My suggestion for this issue: check the bobbin threading. My bobbin has to be inserted so that it turns counterclockwise in order to catch the down thread.

New Singer 1507- handwheel is stuck.

The bobbin might have a bunch of thread off it inside the compartment here the bobbin is. Also, make sure it's thread correctly, that can goof things up to.

Sewing machine needle won't go down to catch bobbin thread

try changing the needle
rethread the machine top & bobbin
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly
also make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
if none of these suggestions help, then you should consider
taking the machine to have it service, to see if it's out of time

I have threaded up my machine and have started to sew. The thread on the back of the fabric keeps catching and bunches up. What's going wrong?

try a new needle

keep a check on the thread take up lever that the thread doesn't come off of it

rethread the machine to make sure that the thread isn't catching on anything

clean under the needle plate for loose thread or lint & in the bobbin area also

make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly

Thread is bunching underneath fabric

Needle in correct? Be sure your bobbin is not in upside down and turning the wrong way. Possibly the hook that the bobbicase fits in/on has been hit by a needle and caused a burr that is catching the thread as it comes around. The burr would have to be polished off or hook replaced. The machine could be slightly out of time also.

Not catching stitches / bobbin correctly

When you broke the needle I think you have moved the shaft that brings the needle down ,you can adjust it !
