GE Side-by-Side Ice Maker not dispensing

Water dispenser works fine. Ice maker works fine. Ice dispenser doesn't work at all. The light will come on and immediately dim. I made sure the piece in the middle of the dispenser would spin freely by hand and also held the door open with the latch depressed and pushed the ice dispenser handle - nothing happened. No noises inside the freezer, no moving parts....
