What error message(s) are you getting ?? What is the extension of the picture files (for example, if the file you are trying to open is called Susan.jpg, then the extension is "jpg") that you are trying to open ?

What you can do is it could be that the ;picture file must have gone corrupt.Check where the picture file is trying to get opened.Reinstall the picture file viewer. Also can install photoshop etc and try if possible.

Scanning with epson dx4450 (using Windows 8) seems to generate "damageded files"

Adobe reader cannot open .jpg files. Adobe reader is designed to read files with a .pdf file extension. PDF is a quasi-universal format that's common across multiple operating systems. If your scanner will allow you to save files in .pdf format, Adobe reader should be able to open them. Otherwise, you'll have to use a picture file viewer/editor. Most versions of Windows have a picture viewer built in.

When i want to try open an image file then system is showing hpqcutill.dill is missing

Hi there,
It seems that your HP Photo smart Essential software is not working properly, you can solve the issue by two methods,
1. Copy all the files in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin" to "C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin".
2. Reinstall your scanner software if you have the CD/DVD, you can also download latest software from HP website,
For images which are not being opened directly in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer . simply right click any image file and select open with >Choose Program a box will be opened you can select Windows Picture and Fax viewer it will be shown under the recommended programmes, dont forget to check the "Always use this program to open this kind of file" and click OK
It should fix your problem now
If you need any more assistance feel free to reply to this post

Video files don't upload

Windows XP? Are you using windows movie maker (WMM) to import them? I begin by copying the ".mod" files to my computer off the flash card which I insert into my printer. THe software Canon provides is useless. Next I change the file extension to ".MPG". Next open WMM, import video file, but when it starts doing so choose cancel. I don't know why that is. If you let it continue the import it seems to lock up. It will then let you drag and drop that video clip onto a movie.

Cant open on PC

What type of picture format are they? is the icon of them look like a white piece of paper with a windows symbol in the middle? if so, then they are not a recognized file type for windows such as jpg, gif, bmp, png, and so on.

Have you tried to force them open? Open a picture editor, such as windows paint, click File > Open. when asked to open a file, type *.* for the file name and press enter. all files should be shown now. locate a file on your memory card and open it.

Did it open? if so then you may have lost associations for your picture files. it may be all picture types or just that format your pictures are in.

Did the picture not open? check the file type extension, for example DSC0001.JPG where JPG is the extension. if you do not see your files like that, right click the file and select Properties. the File Type information will be located in the top section.

External hard drive won't open jpeg files

First thing i would do is uninstall publisher and try to open them since it happened after you installed it. If that seemed to resolve the problem, try reinstalling publisher and going to www.microsoftupdate.com and downloading any updates for publisher then try again. Let me know :-)

Photos wont open

There seems to be a corruption of file type between camera and computer The fact that the computer wont play mov. but the camera will if back loaded seems odd. JPEG files can and do go wonky if back loaded to camera after editing because essential info for the camera has been deleted. A JPEG file as produced by a camera is properly called an EXIF file because has has EXtendedINformation. Lose it and the camera wont know it. Like wise older PC's such Win 98 and older software don't know about EXIF so they chop it off So something like that is happening here. Check out Tech Support at Kodak see what they can tell you.
