Question about Pentair 3/4hp 115/230v Booster Pump - La01n

1 Answer

I have a leak, just below the hose connection on the top of the pump. It appears that there is an adaptor/connector on the top of the pump, just underneath where the hose is connected. Just below this is where the leak is. It looks like this piece is removable, and there is what looks to be like some kind of sealant at this joint. This is where it is leaking. I'm just not sure if this piece is really removable, and how much force I should use (if any) to remove it, to try to reseal it.

I worked for Pentair for three years, the leak you describe is a common one. The adapter is removable from the pump housing. There is probably a bad O-Ring between these two parts, which is the #1 cause for leaking! If you have an Owner's Manual, refer to that, if not, here is the link online:

The hose is on the side of the gas cap and it runs down to the bottom of the quarter panel. When I filled the gas tank up, gas comes out of this hose. We just had the fuel pump replaced. Its not leaking...

There are normally two hose lines from the fuel filler that run to the tank. The larger one carries the fuel from the nozzle to the tank. The smaller one is a vent hose that allows vapors to leave the top of the tank while filling. These vapors come back to the nozzle area and can be vented and/or collected by the nozzle depending upon air pollution standards in your area. If your second hose is running to the bottom of the quarter panel, it is probably the vent hose that may not have been reconnected at the top of the tank when the fuel pump was replaced. The fuel running down there is from kickback fuel at the time the pump shuts off. The real problem is that the vent line is open on top of the tank and when the tank is full, that can allow vapors and fuel to escape out of there and it could contact hot exhaust areas - a major fire or explosion hazard. Have this inspected and repaired IMMEDIATELY.

As load of wash is spinning, water is appearing from under the washing machine

There is a connector line that runs from the bottom of the tub to the connector on the back of the machine that the drain hose connects to. Make sure that the connection between that and the bottom of the tub is secure, and that the clamp is holding it securely in place. Also, check for the possibility of a leaking drain pump. As they wear out, they occassionally leak.

Leak from bottom of connector

If a nail gets inside the pump it can wear a hole in it. I opened my pump and a top to a hanger was in there. It over time rusted and became sharp and wore a hole through right below where the rubber hose gos in. Consequently the water in the bottom of the plastic tub sits there and even though it's not draining water makes it's way through. I used a soldering iron to melt similar plastic. I put a tube in to creat a mold and backer so the plastic simply would not go through, I used the long end and kept rubbing it. It's a thorough bond. I put it back together and no leak. The plastic is simply plastic and not pvc so pvc pipe glue will not work. You can't order that part by itself either, you have to order the whole pump. I still have beeping but found if you turn the dial it figures it self out and only beeps between cycles on the machine rather than through the entire wash/rinse.

Hi! I have a Gibson Front Load washer, manufactured by Frigidaire I believe, Model # GWT645RHSO. It is leaking from below the drum. I opened the back for a better view of where the leak was coming...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. It is either leaking from drain pump joint or the drain pump has developed a crack. You'll need to remove the drain pump for any cracks or loose connections. Please see the steps to remove the drain pump---
Use a shop vacuum to **** all the water through the drainhose. Remove the bottom front panel held by two screws on bottom and twoplastic pins at the top. Locate drain pump in front right. Removedelectric connector on front of pump. Remove two screws holding pump down. Usedpliers to move spring clips back so hoses could be removed. Put hoses on newpump and squeeze the clamps with pliers to pull them back over the hoseconnection. The connection on the left will cause a little pain due to spacelimitations. Now put the screws back on the pump after checking and reconnectthe electric plug. Put the bottom cover back on and screw it into place.

This schematic will help you--

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Whirlpool ultimate 2 model#lsw9750pw3 ser.ct1941128 leaking in front. appears to leak from a bow with 2 hose connected.

Your water pump is attached to the motor and is probably the source of your water leak.
Replace the pump.
Use the attached video to show how to access the cabinet and pump.

Kenmore top loading washer model 110-24962301

the drain hose connects to the pump with a flexible coupling about 2inches behind the front case. to check
Remove console
  • remove edge trims from console
  • remove phillips head screws from corners of console(under trims)
  • slide console forward, lift up flip over
remove body/case
  • remove body retain clips from under console(not how they fit for reassembly)
  • remove lid switch connector
  • lift body ~1 inch slide forward and off
pump and entire workings are visible, leak site should be visible at the hoses couplings etc

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II - Whinning and leaking small amount of water

If the water is appearing in the front of the washer, you may have a leak in the drain pump. The link I'm posting below gives step-by-step instructions on how to replace the drain pump.

http://www.fixya.com/support/r397092-replacing_water_pump

If it is not the drain pump, at least this gives you the necessary instruction on how to access the cabinet interior to inspect it properly. A whining noise could be something caught in the pump, or something stuck between the wash tub and outer basket. In order to run the washer with the case removed, you will need to by-pass the lid switch. this accomplished by jumpering the two BLACK wires on the lid switch connector at the timer. CAUTION: Unplug the washer before connecting the jumper wires. Then, plug back in and start the washer. Fill on the lowest setting and look for leaks.

NOTE: The drain pump is not serviceable and must be replaced if leaking.

I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have further questions.

Front loading washing machine is having leakage problem

You need to work out where the water is coming from, either the front, back left or right hand side to give you an idea what/where to look.
Front - Open the door and check the door seal (usually grey rubber round the door) look for splits, chaffing, damage.

Rear - check the connection to the pump, there will be a (Black) rubber hose from the drum housing about 12-18"long, check for splits, connection etc.
Check and remove the pump itself, Isolate the electricity, to remove - disconnect the outlet hose from below the sink or upstand, lower the outlet hose to the floor and syphon off the water into a bowl from the machine, there will be some even if the machine appears empty. disconnect the plug on the pump (2 wires), disconnect the hoses from the pump (2 off) and check inside the hoses, bra wires, socks etc. look inside the pump for foreign objects, the pump can be wasily split open via 3 screws normally, refit in reverse order.

Top - remove the top cover usually 2 screws at back or side and will slide slightly to remove, check hoses to drawer and the hose below drawer to top of the drum housing, check the inlet solenoids at the back (where the water hoses connect).

hope this helps
