Your drain tubemust
be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's
stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor.
It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little
air pressure will usually clear it out. Flush it out with hot water and clorox
may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. The drain should be located below
the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

7 year old kenmore side by side refrigerator freezer gets ice build up in the bottom back of the freezer, the drain freezes up, and then an ice dam flows down the bottom of the freezer, and eventually to front of the frezzer bottom. The bottom basket gets frozen in place because of the ice dam. This occurs over just two weeks of being completely thawed out.

I want to remove the Cover to access the cube or crushed switch. How is the Recess cover held on? Should I just 'pop' it off? What are the chances of it breaking? I have a Kenmore side-by-side, model 363.9517711 and I can not get it to crush ice. I get cubed ice, but not crushed. I want to see if the switch is connected but I am having a problem figuring out how to remove the access cover on the (inside freezer) door.
