Hi, You must go to your printer's options and change your paper thickness options. This is a very common problem when you are printing in normal paper and the printer's options are set to "Glossy Paper" or any other. Make sure this options are concordant with the paper you are using. It's going to work.
Hope to help you.
Try cleaning the charge wire. Move the lime green plastic handle from one side of the image unit to the other in the groove. If this doesn't work you'll need a new image unit.$$$$$. note: Make sure green handle is moved completely to the right when finished or black line will occur.

What I ended up doing is wrapping a piece of old sheet aroung my finger and put it into the far left side of the part, that is mentioned in the cleaning directions in my book,. under "cleaning the machine printer platen." After turning the machine off first, I got gobs of the waste ink (several times) doing it that way. Then I took the ink damaged glossy photo paper, and ran that through the printer with just a small image for printing. It seemed to not pick up any more ink on the edges. I hope this helps someone else.
