Sylvania tv standby mode

Hello, what is the model number? Without that, my best guess is the main board has a problem over saying a power supply problem because the stand-by lights on, that says that the biggest part of the power supply is working....thanks

No Standby voltage and no led

The standby voltage comes from the main power regulator board itself. If there is no standby voltage, there is no need to go further. Replace the main power supply board [SMPS] as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.

I have a Home theatre DVD SC-PT460. Turned on this morning and the red stand by light is on but i cannot get it to come on?

the power supply in your DVD player may not have the proper voltage to the electronic switch and therefore the processor is in standby to protect the device.
Or you may have a remote that has left the unit in standby mode. check the user manual to see if this is the fact.
Checking manufacturers site in knowledge base usually has the solution for a "stand by mode" issue.
Or call and talk to a technical support rep.

My Insignia NS-27lcd tv won't power on

Could be a dead backlight or inverter board. I would try the power supply as it isn't that expensive. I would buy the power supply from whoever has the best return policy. Best Buy might take it back with no questions asked. This way, if it is not the power supply, you can return it.

Stuck in standby

There is a "reliability kit" sold for these which consists of 8 electrolytic capacitors for the power supply that may cure the problem. Other times more extensive damage to the switch mode power supply needs additional parts You can try replacing the 4 470Uf/ 35v and the 4 470Uf/ 25v caps.

Lamp indicator flashes red 3 times every 5 secs.

Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.

LG CT-29K30EX 29" TV plugged

LG CT-29K30EX 29" TV - We have the same symptoms as described. If you are a person who is not afraid of opening the back cover of your TV and replacing parts inside. this tip is for you. Contact a service person if your not 100% sure. Its actually easy, it involves replacing a small capacitor in the power supply section. You don't need to troubleshoot coz i've done that for you for free. Find this capacitor in the power supply. C801 with a value of 100uf / 35V. De solder and replaced it with the same value or a much higher Voltage rating e.g. 50V. Done! your T.V. is alive again. - Rey Tilles - New Zealand
