Question about HP Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My HP Wireless Mouse suddenly started NOT WORKING after I have been using it for a while. i checked the batteries they are fully charged as I only replaced them last week. I have cleaned the mouse pad and desk top just in case there was any dirt and I have wiped the mouse. It works for about 30 mins then just stops working. I have only had this mouse for six months and it worked fine until Monday of this week. Any Idea what is wrong. Do I need to buy a new mouse, if so where can I get the same model from, as this only works with my present keyboard and gismo Eunice Parker

My hp wireless mouse was working fine with my hp mini laptop all the sudden stopped working

My first guess is it could be the batteries. Have you tried changing it?

If it still won't work then I suggest reinstalling it.

Thanks for using Fixya!

Hallo i can not get my new wireless mouse to work

Make sure the mouse batteries are fully charged.

Also make sure the mouse is not too far away from the base / cradle and there is nothing blocking the sensor on the front of the mouse cradle.

Make sure all the cables are fully inserted. Check both ends of the power adapter plug going into the back of the mouse cradle and the plugs leading to the back of the computer.

Try cleaning the little red LED light under the mouse with a QTip to remove any dust.

Make sure you restart your computer with the mouse cradle / base plugged into the mouse port.
Then be sure to connect the base and the mouse by pushing the button on the base unit, then the small button on the underside of the wireless mouse.

Also try using a different mouse pad. Some work better than others with certain brands of wireless mice. And also make sure there is not another wireless mouse being used in close proximity. The two can often interfere with each other.

Thank you and good luck.

My Gateway computer came with a USB connected/wireless keyboard/mouse. I am operating under MS Vista Home Premium. Suddenly the keyboard continues to function; however, the mouse is not working properly....

If its a logitech I would definitely encourage you to go to logitech.com and download the software for your devices. Logitech has excellent mice and with their software installed they run real well.

I have an HP wireless mouse and keyboard, my mouse suddenly stopped working, how can I fix?

It is possible the mouse needs new batteries or needs to be charged.

Try replacing the batteries to see if the mouse starts working.

If that does not work then try re-inserting the wireless receiver into a different USB slot.

get a real mouse
make sure that works
then put in a new battery in your wireless mouse
RTM it tells you how
USB tests, all so obvious.
use real desktop key board , that work
or USB memory stick , add file to it, see other files you have there>?

only clues here is USB dead, 2 months old.(means new? or new to you?)

next,
in w10
go to CP
then go to device manager
be ONLINE

reload any that are bad.

end story

My wireless mouse (new batteries) and keyboard all of a sudden do not work. Checked all of the connections. Devices are about 5 years old.

It seems as though your driver has become corrupted. Use your "System Restore" to go back a few days to when it was operating correctly. Thanks, Dana

Try replacing the batteries. Wireless mice do funky things when the batteries are low.
