Hello Friend, this is Z. I am happy to assist you!
I understand your dishwasher will not start. Let's try resetting your dishwasher by flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is necessary to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn on your dishwasher. Confirm that the door is securely closed and select a cycle. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, it could potentially mean a number of things: a potential wiring failure, damaged cord, faulty door latch assembly or control board. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose your dishwasher to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.
Hope this helps!
SOURCE: Flashing "Washing" light on my frigidaire 1000 series dishwasher
Possible solution. I had the same problem of "washing" light flashing last year and now today. Warranty has been expired for awhile, so no harm in trying. What worked for my situation was removing the six screws for the back of the plastic control cover. Take of the plastic cover. There are are two connectors to the HANDLE with white and black wires. To be safe I would shut off the ciruit to the dishwasher. Safety first. Carefully disconnect and inspect the contacts inside the connectors. Do not insert any metal objects if you left the power on. I believe that the moisture from the dishwasher can degrade the connectivity. I cleaned the contacts with q-tips and re-installed. Be careful to not bend the contacts. If you had sound, you could hear my dishwasher running. Total cost is about three cents. I believe that the connectors do not full close when corroded, which prevents the completion of the circuit to the controlls. The flashing light indicates that the door is open, when in fact it is closed. Hopefully this will help someone. Semper Fi

you may have inadvertently set the lock on function..
check this out from your manual...
Lock On
Use the Lock On to prevent unintended use of the dishwasher
between cycles. You can also use the lock feature to prevent
unintended cycle or option changes during a cycle.
When LOCK ON is lit, all buttons are disabled.
NOTE: The dishwasher door can be opened while the controls
are locked. However, the lock must be turned off and the Start/
Resume button pressed to resume the cycle.
To turn on the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. LOCK ON glows.
If you press any pad while your dishwasher is locked, the light
flashes 3 times.
NOTE: If the Heated Dry option is selected, the light will
temporarily turn off until Lock On glows.
To turn off the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. The light turns off.
hope this helps,
best of luck,

holding the button for four seconds will not do it, you have to hold it until the light stops blinking and
will go back to normal, normall takes more than four seconds to unlock the unit, this is something

jamcdani Most likely the problem with your dish washer is bad key pad. It is not repairable and has to be replaced. Whirlpool does not sell it separate and you have to by the whole console assembly. The price range is between $95 and $115 (different colors) and it is not very complicated to replace it. I can help you with the complete step by step instructions and, if you provide the complete model number of your dish washer, I get the part number and the best price for you. Gendos post back...
Good Afternoon Denise, thanks for your post!
Based off what you have described your Frigidaire dishwasher will light up and will not start or cancel. This could be a possible problem with your keypad or control panel. In order to access which electrical component that could be causing the issue you would need to disassemble your dishwasher. This is not a simple DIY job and I would recommend having a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you avoid unnecessary part purchases. -Matt
