Remove the printwheel and look for bent or broken spokes, look for debris in the P/W area, try it without the correction tape, if you have the wrong type tape or it is twisted there will be a problem.

The ribbon is not moving so the letters keeping typing onn the same spot I changed the ribbon but it still does the same thing

You may be in the overstrike ribbon. Try CODE period, comma or slash. (I can't ever remember which) to get out of it.

If you are not in KBII or a lunguage mode the printwheel homing pawl is probably broken.

We have a swintec 2500 typewriter that when I attempt to press the letter "P" or any letter it types out a "period". Is there any feature to turn from one type of letter characters to another?

First be sure the printwheel is properly installed and that none of the spokes are bent of broken. Then check the pitch selector slide switch on the L. side of the KB it should be in 10 or 12 not in PS.

When typing, all of the letters do not print,

There are two possibilities, Most likely the print solenoid cap is broken but the solenoid may just be gummy. The sol. is just inside the L. printer side frame just L of the selection motor, just in front of and directly below the small blue rubber damper. Spray some WD40 on the rear of the solenoid. If that dosen't help we sell the solenoid cap with shipping and instructions for 20.00.

When typing does not print whole letter or doesn't print at all.

it would help if i knew exactly what model # we are talking about. but try this. look closely at your ribbon film after you type some characters. are the letters overlapping themselves? if so, press and hold the "code" key down while pressing the period key. let up and try typing. if that doesn't help, write back with model # and maybe i can assist further.

Types wrong Characters

Does it always type the same wrong letter ie a always prints u or w ? if so the print wheel drive gear is out of position. if not and it get random letters some thing may be interfering with the wheel rotation.
