Lennox XC21 (7 yrs old) compressor motor does not turn fan blades

Check the motor by hand to see if it turns freely, if it does then the issue is the motor controller not being able to sense where the motor is. Check for 240 Volts on the red wires and then check for 24 volts dc between black and blue and black and yellow.

Air condition motor not going on

check to see if the fan is running if not it has frozen up over the winter. turn off fuses to a/c unit then try to turn fan by hand,if not soak down fan bearings with penetrating oil like PB Blaster keepmoving fan blade back and forth until it spins freely. Then try turning on the power to a/c unit if motor then turns fan freely , shut it down again and use a good coat of a-1 motor oil (ELECTRICAL) on the fan brgs. This should get you through for another year or so. On the other hand if fan will not spin by the motor now but spins by hand then the fan motor is bad.

Compressor fan motor does not turn blades, but hums. Blades turn freely by hand. compressor also does not turn on.

you will need to see if you are receiving you voltage to the contactor, if not then there should be a breaker or fuse next to your unit outside. the fan should engage, if the contactor is pulled in then check for voltage to the fan, it should be a black and white wire on t1 and t3, if the voltage is there then the 5mfd capacitor is bad(check with meter, if you have a meter that does that) or the fan motor is bad. on the fan motor there is a diagram with the HP,RPM,Phase, and voltage. you can either get one locally or search eBay for one. Just make sure you get a capacitor with the new motor that is rated the same, most are 5mfd but some are 7.5mfd. Hope this helps Tim

Outside condenser fan won't run. I have pwr going to the contactor. The fan spins freely by hand. When I turn it to cool I get high and low lights illuminated on the circuit board. What do these mean??

You did not mention if the compressor ran when you depressed the contactor. The condenser fan is tied into the compressor wiring so if the compressor runs, so does the condenser fan. That is unless you have a winter kit in it which allows the condenser fan only to operate once it hits a certain temp. If you are getting error codes, I would say you have low refrigerant.

The ac is not fully turning on. It sounds like the compressor starts to run, but the fan does not and eventually turn off. With the unit off, i turn the fan on and it sounds like its trying to run but its...

The first thing you should do is make sure the fan turns freely by hand. If it does then check the capacitor and replace it if it's bad. If the fan doesn't turn freely then you may need a new fan.

Air is not blowing out with any force

if "not blowing out with any force" is refering to the outside unit .. then make sure the fan is turning and up to speed .. if not then make sure it turns freely without power .. if not then lube the bearings or replace the fan motor ... if it doesnt start at all but turns freely by hand then replace the starrting capacitor (about 3 inch metalic rounded rectangle with wires going into the compressor and fan) .. make sure the condenser coil is not clogged with leaves (wash out) ... if you are refering to the inside unit not havinng much force .. then replace the furnace air filter .. check to make sure the blower turns freely ... check the evaporator coil for blockage with dust ..

The fan won't turn on one of my HWF05XC5's

unplug unit, remove the screws that hold on the front cover, pull off front cover and try to spin fan by hand. it should spin freely and feel smooth and take a while to stop; it should not have any play or feel rough, or stop suddenly. if any of the above problems are observed, the fan motor is bad if the compressor comes on but the fan does not. if the fan spins freely but just does not come on (and compressor does) it could also be a wiring issue. if you have no compressor or fan action, try another outlet and check to see if the breaker at the end of the cord is set to "on".

Duo Therm A/C unit will not run

It appears you may have a bad fan motor the reason the compressor stops is it is kicking out a low pressure switch to protect the compressor. You may be better taking it to an RV shop because I think you will have to remove the evap coil to change out the fan motor.
