Question about Philips 55PL9773 55" Rear Projection Television
Mine did this and I also tried to replace the lamp. However, it is probably simply your filters are clogged. Try pulling them out, cleaning them and putting them back.

I have this same problem. I replaced the lamp but the problem still exists. I had a repair place come out. They told me it was a bad new lamp. I tried another lamp but had the same problem. Now they told me it is the lamp driver/balast. I am not sure if I will have them repair it for $350+-. When they did the diagnosis, they didn't even bother to turn on the tv.
