Philips 60pp9100d/37 - remote sensor

Philips 60pp9100d/37 - changed the convergence ic's and some resistors, that works fine. I need the remote to adjust the multi-point convergence but the tv remote sensor seems to be out. Tried a couple different universal remotes with no luck.... Any ideas? Did I not plug the sensor wire back in the correct location of which without a picture of that location I would be clue less.

ok... Thanks! I don't mind checking/taking it apart again. I thought I pluged back in? But if it's pluged into the wrong location then I don't know where the correct location should be or is there only one possible slot?

double checked all connections and they appear to be correct. any other thoughts on what else to check or replace?

Yes it probley got pulled out and since
its a stragler wire ,it would be easy to miss

little trick I use is never dust or vacume
till your done , that way you can see where
somthing was or was not pluged in at that
location

darn gota take it apart again , I know the feeling.

Don't have remote is there another way to line up colors I've already changed the convergence chips but not the resistors

Chances are the new ICs have failed since the 6.8 ohm resistors werent changed a phillips will almost always blow one or two of the 6.8 ohm resistors and if new ICs are installed without replaceing the resistors the new ICs are usually destroyed by the blown resistors. You will need the original remote or authorized replacement to adjust the convergence properly.

My magnavox 51mp6100d/37 rear projection television has a distortion problem. When I suse the adjustment box for the rgb tubes, red is fine, blue seems to just apply a blue haze, not really go great...

This problems is not the lamp problems. This problems is call convergence problems. The colors R,G,B mis alignmrnent, have ghost picture or 3D pictures. The tv convergence board, the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead. These parts nust be change in the convergence board to solved the convergence problems. The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

Replaced IC chips, but can't fine-tune convergence.

U know how to use a multimeter right?Check and replaced all the resistors near the 2 convergence ICS.Most resistors are big and blue core in colors.

Getting lines to line up

Hi, if the green isn't straight to begin with you will need to go into the convergence sub menu and align it there code is 062597 status then follow the instructions to adjust the green first, then red , then blue multipoint and save it.
pressing menu to switch arrows to move/adjust status to back up , make sure to scroll down to save multipoint before exiting, power off when done.
If any color will not move or is more than 1 inch out of adjustment you may need to check the resistors to that convergence color .
hope this helps

Did you replace the 6.8 ohm 1watt resistors? As that model will usually blow a couple when the ICs fail.

Remote will not adjust red convergence/multi-point horizontally

check resistors around convergence i.c.(red) philips may use 2 resistors in parallell. should be about 1.8 ohms. assuming you already changed the i.c.

This set is a HD plasma tv and convergence is done differently than the rear projection tv's,rear projection tv's have convergence Ic's and you can adjust the color but not on this unit.
