SOURCE: will not shut off

Sounds like a stuck relay on the unit itself. Maybe there is a short in the control wire that comes from the thermostat that activates the fan.

The thermostat probably has one hot wire at all times. The thermostat then chooses which wire to send the voltage down based on your selection. One of those wires is probably for the fan only. Make sure that it is in good condition (no bare, pinched or wires)

SOURCE: Dur-therm furnace heat controll with Dometic remote

i would suggest that you look at your thermostat,it may be to close to the furnace keeping in mind that all thermostats have a certain tempreture drop (or gain) before restarting john

SOURCE: Dometic air conditioner blowing cool air

When the cooling slows down, but water is still running off, usually something is icing up. You can turn the unit off, and let it thaw, and try again. Sometimes, if the humidity is high, this is more pronounced. It sounds like you are low on refrigerant. That implies that you have a slight leak. You should have the unit serviced, and the leak repaired.

SOURCE: dometic a/c, duotherm thermostat, turns right back on after it reaches desired temperture.

I have a dometic 13500 BTU Roof mount a/c. It is set up with the duo-therm analog thermostat. The system cools fine. The problem is that the a/c gets down to the right temp, then it turns off like it should but turns right back on within a few seconds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi; How old is the unit. Sometimes the condensing coils get clogged and need to be cleaned. Or the compressor is not in operation due to an electrical problem or the compressor is out due to a safety feature called a thermal overload. This protects the compressor from failure to a high heat or pressure situation. Alot of consumers run to the need freon theory before checking a few other things. My furnace runs to operating temp on thermostat shuts down then within 30 seconds try's to cycle back on three to four times. What would cause this.

Some thermostats have a swing setting that can be adjusted. A swing is the setting when you want the furnace to stop or start from the desired set point. For example, you set your thermostat at 70 and the swing is set at 10 degrees. Then the furnace will turn on 5 degrees below 70 and shut off 5 degrees above 70. Check you thermostats manual if it has this option.

A/c runs for 10 min. then shuts off for 3 min. temp will not com down over 4 degrees.

Check the thermostat to ensure it is calling for cooling. If you are savvy disconnect all electrical energy from the A/C and jumper across the terminals of the temp control, if the A/C runs as is should you need a new control. You can also test it by setting a multi-meter to A/C volts and putting one lead each on the connections to the thermostat, if when the machine shuts down at a warmer than desired temperature and the meter reads volts it is open and not demanding cooling, replace it. if the thermostat continues to demand cooling but the machine shuts down call a tech, you may have a safety causing the shut down.

Duo therm rv air conditioner repair

Sounds like thermostat is failing. There is a factory set resistor that helps the thermostat keep a 2 degree accuracy. Second possibility is that you have a fan or direct airflow from the cooling system, being devirted, that is allowing the cool air hit the thermostat on the wall.

Duo Therm A/C (2009 Sabre RV) won't shut off

bad compressor relay on control board. The relay is not opening the circuit, allowing the compressor to stay running when unit is turned off. This overheats the compressor and opens a thermal disk shutting the compressor off. When thermal disk cools down, the compressor restarts under load and trips breaker.

Dometec Briskair Duo-Therm Compressor won't quit running

Have you taken return air filter grille down at ceiling assy, & cleaned filter with dish soap & warm water? Check & see if you see little probe sticking out in behind there, and wipe it carefully as well, and make sure it's lined up to sense air flowing through there. Take a flashlight & look up into coils at front for lots of dust on them as well. Perhaps a thorough cleaning of all coils is in order if you say there's lots of dust, as choking airflow off with dust & dirt, will only shorten life of unit & use more hydro than necessary.

I have a comfort zone furnace. If it's 50 degrees in the house, and i set my thermostat to 70 or so,it takes at least 24 hours to reach 70 degrees. The furnace starts up and runs normally for about five...

When the thermostat calls for heat it should run until the room reaches the temperature setting then shut off. Is the blower motor running and can you feel air coming out of the vents? It sounds like the blower is either not running or putting out enough air to keep the furnace heating. The blower moves the heat from the heat exchanger to the room, if it can't remove enough heat from the heat exchanger there is a limit switch that will shut the burner off if it gets to hot and that's what it sounds like is happening.

My Thermostat shows that the teperature is hotter than it is in the evening, thus the furnace is off and the whole house is cold all night.

If you have a bi-metal t-stat it will be plus or minus 10 degrees. If you have a digital t-stat it is accurate plus or minus 1 degree. You can adjust a bi-metal t-stat but not a digital. If it is the t-stat not keeping the right temp. then you will need to change it.
