Where can i get the pick up lens for sony rv777d?

If your system was not used for a long time , then there are more possibilities for failure of belt . I have also faced the same problem. Better get the belts replaced in SONY Service Centres

Was this player playing previously? And how long have you been using this player? I suspect the lens of the player. Once the lens of the player becomes weak, it won't play discs any longer.

The first thing my mind goes to, is the lens. The lens id responsible for reading/loading data on discs. So if the lens is unable to read the disc, there is no way the player is going to play the disc.

To confirm if actually its a laser problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or probably, a mechanism problem.

Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.

If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.

To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.

Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.

FIRST CLEAN LENS

Most probably the lens has either become dirty in which case clean the lens using a DVD lens cleaner CD. Else the lens has become weak & needs to be replaced.

MHC-RV777D shuts off itself because of protection mode that is activated to avoid further damage due to defective amplifier output IC in unit.
You need to check/ replace output amplifier IC to solve this issue, if you are not familiar with electronics stuff repair then local repair shop will do this job for you.

try to clean optical lens, sometimes dust can jump reading to disk. or else we need to replace the whole assembly.

I would check out the switch that detects the recording tab in the machine. It might have become bent out of shape so it stays open even when a tape presses against it.

I wouldn't expect huge bass from those little speakers. Somewhere on there, there's an equiliser, where you 'll probably be able to turn the bass up and down. See if that works. If not, new speakers may help.

Is it possible that the speakers are out of phase, where one speaker is moving out, the other is moving in, resulting in zero bass?

Other than checking wires, making sure + on amp is linked to + on speaker, try changing the eq settings, or sit them next to a wall - walls help bass a lot.
