Question about Dell E173FP 17" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
I have a 2306C dell lcd tv, it has been turning itself off several times while i was watching it. I was told that it was a transistor, that makes the unit think it is hot and shuts it off. I was also told that it was not in the power supply. If anyone knows which transistor is causing the tv to turn off, i could repair it myself. I need location number so that i can find the part that is bad and the part number. any help will be greatly appreciated.
Ok, this is the way how to examine where the problem is. You have to check that you can see the image on the screen by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see something moving, there will be a minor problem. Like me, I can see window image using flashlight and check lamps inside. Some of them were broken. If you cannot see. I would say that there are some problems with the inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or dark spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so.
