Question about Iomega 1TB Desktop USB 2.0 Hard Drive

Potential overheating just purchased 1TB external drive, ambient temp is 27ºC at the moment but will go to30/32ºc next 2/3 months.How can I check the temp of the drive and can you recomend how to keep the drive within the parameters many thanks for any help

You can buy a fan with a thermal bublb on it that will mount on the drice and will kep it cool, you could have a bad thermal bublb on the drive and it's still under warrenty so I would call the company to see if they would replace it or send you aa new fan with bublb sensor.

I would buy a new hard drive enclosure. Pull the drive out of the old and into the new. If it works great, if it doesn't return the enclosure and replace the drive.

1. this ( cyclic redundancy check) is the computers way of saying " i don't recognize the data check-sum.
2. This issue could be due to the data controller on the USB drive being defective.
3. try purchasing a new case with a new controller board.
4. Check to see if your 1TB USB drive is compatible with your pc.

Each external device connects to one USB port on your computer.
So, you'll have no problems running two devices at the same time, in different USB ports.

I am a potential customer. Ebay is offering a 'Galaxy EXTERNAL USB 2.0 +Western Digital 2TB HARD DRIVE' with 3 year warranty. Do YOU warrant it, or what?


Ebay is not offering the item, the seller makes the offer. If it is the Egoodz hd with 2 1TB HD, i read their offer, They warrant the External box for 1 year; the manufacturer warrants the HD.

I purchased 2 WD elements 1TB. I have pluged it


right click on the drive , format it and it should work, if this not solves your problem go to the shop and use your warranty, it may be broken.
