Try a different Micro-USB cable. It is usually caused by the cable's micro-USB end being loose and not the tablet's charging port. Most smartphones these days use Micro-USB so you can usually try using one of those if you have one.

SOURCE: My VIZIO Tablet 1008 micro USB charging port is looseand charging indicator comes on some times when I move the wires around. ow do I get to charge the Vtab?

I had the same problem with my vizio tablet. The port came loose after the wife and kids kept playing with it. The tablet would not charge anymore. What I had to do was open the tablet and check if the little pins that connect the Micro USB port were still soldered on the circuit board. Mine were broken off so I had to replace the whole port. I couldnt even find the OEM replacement part so I had to buy a Mico USB (style B) port off ebay and made it work.

My Samsung tablet won't charge when plugged in

Does it have a micro USB charger/charging port? This was the universal charging adapter most manufacturers other than Apple moved to around 5 years ago. In my experience, the charging port to charger connection can become loose and prevent charging....especially if you use the tablet or phone during charging. The best method I have found to troubleshoot the issue is to try a charger that successfully charges another device and plug it into the tablet or phone. If your device still does not charge, and especially if the connection is loose, it is most likely that your charging port is damaged. Another possible issue would be the battery itself but the charger or charging port is the most likely culprit for your issue.

Battery port

Depending on how hot you may be right. It is normal for the battery to heat up when you charge it. I have an RCA tablet that while the charge port (which doubles as the micro USB) fits tight and the battery still heats up to the point where it is hot to the touch but not to hot to hold. If your charging port is broken then the tablet will nont charge at all. If it is loose and not getting good connection then the battery will charge intermittently. Again either of these issues will not cause the battery to get abnormally hot. However, if there is an issue with the battery itself then it may get too hot. If so the charging circuit thermistor should cause the battery to stop charging.

My Charger Port is no longer there is there any other way to charge it

Jillian, Check warranty, I beleive should be one year, call manufacturer right away if under warranty. Option 2 Have charger port replaced at a computer/cell phone repair shop. Check links below and see how they fixed this issue.

My tablet is not charging

Hi,

Does the tablet power on when plugged in?
Have you tried a different power outlet, or a different power adapter?
Does the connector on the tablet seem loose or will the tablet charge if you hold the charging cable firmly to the charging socket?

Depending on your answers, it could be a bad charging port on the device, or a bad power adapter/cable, or a problem with electrical outlets. The remaining option would be a battery problem.

I post on behalf of HP.

Repair charging port on google nexus 7

yes.

The micro usb charging port on the nexus 7 is notorious for becoming useless b/c cords fit loosely in the port right out of the box. Micro usb cords get wiggled and jiggled because of the size of the opening and then the port will no longer charge b/c solder breaks from the board, or the tongue inside the port partially breaks apart.

You can buy the replacement micro usb / headphone jack assembly for about $50 and do the repair yourself (hopefully) ...or you can send it to us and we\'ll replace just the jack and ship it back to you all for $54.95

More info and our repair form is on this page:
