Hi. I researched your motherboard, and AZUM is right you CAN easily add up to 4 GB of memory on your board. The spec sheet says you need the 184 pin type, and it can run up to DDR 400 type memory. Other DDR speeds will run on it, but will slow your performance. At the cost of memory these days, Isuggest you go with as much as you can. The max memory size your board can handle is 1 GB in each stick I believe, since there are 4 memory slots on your board, and the max your board can have is 4 GB.

I currently have just 256mps of memory ram on my dell dimension 2400. i want to upgrade. my manual says the maxium is 1024 mbs. can i install 1gb of ram or should i get 512 mbs? i have windows xp os. thank...

1024 is 1 gig of ram. Some older motherboards require you to put in ram in pairs but I don't think your system is one of those but if you have manual or can download manual you should check to be sure. If you don't need a pair then yes you can remove the 256 meg stick and add a 1 gig stick or you can put in 2 512 meg sticks. Should run a lot better as windows recommends at least 512 megs of ram.

Problems with Foxconn 6100K8MA-RS Motherboard memory upgrade

This is an oldtime POST code memory error. Likely that ram is either installed wrong, bad RAM or the mobo doesn't like one of the memory sticks.

To upgrade my Asus Eeepc 4G

The only way you can add space is for you to use an external HDD because an Eee PC has a built-in hard drive that cannot be upgraded.

Upgrade from 512MB to 1GB

The specs on the memory are correct, so you purchased the correct type of memory for this motherboard. If your getting no video when you power on with the 1gb stick, I would be willing to bet the 1gb stick is bad. Can you return it and try another stick?

Double boot

almost anything is possible, but in general a 430 watt P/S should be able to run 2 gigs of ram, however that doesn't mean that the ram you purchased is the correct ram for the motherboard or that you have so many other added perpherials i.e. dual or tripe CD drives, hard drives, USB perpherials that the load is simply to great for your P/S. A rule of thumb is find out what your system ' will ' run with and then work from there. For example if a person was serous about this problem he might disconnect all power connectors to all other equipment other then his hard drive, monitor/video card, and his motherboard just to see if the system could then boot normally. If it did, chances are the memory is okay for the motherboard in normal circumstances. However if the system did not boot normally, it might be an incompatibility with the 2 gigs of memory on that particular motherboard. Memory is not a generic add-on. A person needs to make sure the memory is correct for a motherboard before installing. Also you indicate the present P/S is only 4 months old, any particular reason why you had it changed out to begin with??
