Windows 8.1 x64 dvd won't boot on UEFI pre-installed Ubuntu laptop

I have bought a Neo Basic BG2JL-112 and has Ubuntu 14.04 LTS preinstalled.. Its in UEFI. The Problem is my windows 8.1 x64 DVD won't boot. I get an error message with Status: 0xc0000225. I have tried to search through google and forums. And tried all the methods. They say you can fix it using windows installation disc. but the disc won't even boot. I use Windows 8 Recovery Essentials but i get an error saying.. Error: variable 'root' isn't set. I disabled secure boot. but there seems to be no Legacy boot options.. How am I suppose to install windows 8.1 because i don't like Ubuntu?

Not sure on this one Ubuntu likes to be installed last after windows is set up. I would think that you would have to blow away the ubuntu partitions by resizing the partitions to one partion. But you would want to be extremely careful not to touch the hidden recovery partition. You could use a program called gparted to see what the partions are and resize the partion. Extreme caution is needed as if you get it wrong you will not be able to undo it. The problem you are experiencing is because the boot loader is ubuntu grub. You will need another computer to download a gparted iso file and then use infrarecorder to make a boot cd. it can be found at http://gparted.org/ see http://www.ehow.com/how_6540931_remove-ubuntu.html
see also https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OS-Uninstaller
not sure if it will work on version 14

Testimonial: "Thank you sir for this.. this helps a lot.. i will try it.. but how would i now the hindden recovery partition? if i remove it, will my laptop still boot?"

Found this interesting website that has instructions on how to fix this errorhttps://neosmart.net/wiki/0xc0000225/ the problem is that the installation cd of windows needs a drive to temporarily install itself before it installs

if you wipe the recovery partition you will not be able to restore to the factory default usually this partition is hidden but the volume of the partition is hopefully labelled as recovery

Is there a default password i can use to bypass start up password for a asus k501 laptop

When there was something like that, it would make all passwords useless.

When your computer runs on Windows then this can help you. You can use Tenorshare Windows Password Recovery Tool Ultimate to reset the forgotten admin password. Here are detailed steps:
1. Launch the software on the workable computer. Then insert a blank CD/DVD or USB flash drive into the workable computer, and burn an ISO image file to the device with Quick Recovery or Advanced Recovery Wizard.
2. Pull out the created password reset disk and insert it into the locked computer, and set BIOS to boot the locked computer from the disk. If your computer is preinstalled with Windows 8 and use UEFI, you have to disable UEFI Secure Boot before the BIOS setting. 3. Then you will see interfaces of Windows Password Recovery Tool, follow the instructions on them to reset Windows password.

Toshiba satellite M45-S169 won't boot ubuntu from DVD

Your really pushing the lower minimum requirement limits if you're trying to use Ubuntu 11 or Ubuntu 12. Especially with your on-board graphics chip which borrows system ram.

Try Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS (Lucid Lynx) instead.

Go Here and download the 1st link on the list under Desktop CD:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/

OR...

Here is a direct link to the ISO file you need to download and then burn to a CD:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/ubuntu-10.04.4-desktop-i386.iso

If you don't have Software for burning iso's to CD's then download and install this totally FREE CD Burning program:
